In reply to: define('ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true); causes website blackoutI hope you already got help with this, when site goes blank after editing PHP file you have a 99.99999% chance it is due to a syntax error in your php file. Open it in Dreamweaver or other code viewer which will highlight or tell you where the error is.

In reply to: [Login Security Solution] Please get rid of maintenance mode warningI’m having trouble figuring out how to bump the rating.
I would also appreciate it if the plugin settings for password length and complexity could be tweaked a little. I create really good passwords and they are still rejected.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] paragraph tags disappear between html and visualTried it but it caused other problems, Thanks for your help anyway. I truly appreciate it.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] paragraph tags disappear between html and visualInteresting, I did that and it took care of it but it reveals another problem with the gallery, There two br tags at end of the gallery (clear both), These seem totally unnecessary – Not your problem but interesting.
I think 1 br tag is reasonable, 2 seems silly. If I want more space I will hit return to add a P tag. This page has an interesting solution which I’m going to try.

In reply to: [WP Gallery Custom Links] Extra space below galleryI found other people complaining about empty p tags in shortcodes (so it isn’t your problem but definitely a problem.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] paragraph tags disappear between html and visualYes, custom functions added
Yes, child theme.I just thought I’d ask before I tried it.
SO, I tried, it still don’t see any P or BR tags in Text View. Perhaps my custom functions are interefering…

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] paragraph tags disappear between html and visualI mispoke, I meant to say Text View (which I think of as the Visual).
Is there problem or conflict if I have already added custom functions to prevent stripping of BR and P tags? (In other words Everything is working fine, but I can’t see them which makes it hard to edit.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] paragraph tags disappear between html and visualDear Josh,
Does your plugin “force” WordPress to display the p and br tags in the “visual” mode? or just make it easy for users to insert them?
I know I have these tags in my posts but as you know wordpress strips them out.
Basically I want to be able to “SEE” all of my code.
I’ve tried SVGs and HTML5 Video with no success (When I say that I mean, I’ve tested in 4 web browsers, on phone, on ipad. NOTHING works on everything except for MAP SVG by Code Canyon but that is for a specific application. Would like SVG to work in Media library.

In reply to: [Login Security Solution] Please get rid of maintenance mode warningSorry, I do understand now. I have comments disabled on most sites so it is mostly not relevant to me (block everyone, great!). Of course if a site is a blog you want to allow access to commenters etc. Thanks again. Great plugin.

In reply to: [Login Security Solution] Please get rid of maintenance mode warningInteresting, I never associated the warning with that setting. Thank you.
That said, I don’t understand that purpose for me as admin to see the message.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: What does "responsive theme" mean? With all due respect to theme designers. I’ve tested about 20 “responsive themes” and almost none were great. I’ve also tested some premium themes that claim to be responsive and they weren’t responsive either without adding media queries and several lines of CSS. Almost all responded to screen size but most didn’t adjust fonts well, Or did OK on landscape on Android but not in portrait. We’ll have to see how this evolves. For now I’m creating responsive sites with a lot of extra effort – which is OK b/c I like to create a custom look and feel for my sites.
