In reply to: [IP Geo Block] Work with Wordfence? Block Russia?Hi,
I’ve using your plugin for several years without an issues but after switching to Cloudways hosting, I have clear the cache every 2-3 days as the plugin is perceiving a country code of ZZ 127.0.0.1 as an issue of some sort. I got locked out of my site, and had to ftp to the backend to delete your plugin. The ZZ country code and 127.0.0.1 is of course my hosting provider’s servers in New York. But I love your plugin because 95% of my visitors are from the US so I blocked Russia and about a dozen other countries so I would love to continue using the plugin, but can’t because of the need to clear the cache thing. Thanks!

In reply to: [Public Post Preview] Not working with Visual Composer masonry media gridIt’s the hosting company and having shared hosting. I moved one of my sites from Inmotion Hosting to Flywheel and I couldn’t be happier! Blazing speeds and NEVER an admin connectivity issue at all. Inmotion always wants to upsell me to dedicated hosting for $45+ a month, but Flywheel is $15. There’s no cPanel with Flywheel so when I get ready to move my bigger website with 400+ web pages, I’m thinking of going with Cloudways.

In reply to: [Plugin: Visual Composer] Post grid doesn't work on a home pageThe ThemePunch Essentials Grid plugin is working, but it surely involves many more steps just to create a simple grid. I also noticed the same delay in uploading multiple images using the Total WordPress Theme media grid as well, but neither issue is the fault of the theme or plugin authors.
My WordPress hosting company Inmotion Hosting claims “their WordPress hosting is designed to provide the best WordPress hosting” but unfortunately, that is somewhat a false claim as you’ll read below (https://www.inmotionhosting.com/wordpress-hosting).
The Inmotion techs responded with: “…still showing [my] error along with another error: [Sat Dec 03 21:49:37.217878 2016] [:error] [pid 999033:tid 140449492223744] [client 216.54.31.82:54284] libpng warning: Interlace handling should be turned on when using png_read_image
Which is telling us that it may be exceeding the default configuration for PHP modules. Which unfortunately, cannot be modified on a shared server.
The error you are getting – Error while sending QUERY packet. PID=655653 in home/realto28/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1868 – usually points to max_packets being exceeded which is also another setting that cannot be modified on a shared server. You may need to upgrade to a VPS plan or higher where those changes can be made.”
So now Inmotion is recommending I need upgrade to VPS hosting for $30 a month… might as well consider WPEngine.com for the same price. And Inmotion Hosting should not claim their WordPress hosting is designed to provide the best WordPress hosting either!

In reply to: [Public Post Preview] Not working with Visual Composer masonry media gridI am posting my response wherever I find a topic regarding this issue, as I want to try and get it resolved and not just buried away.
I’ve had the same problem (Nov 2016) and I’m reading in other posts that the problem began after WordPress updated to 4.5 AND, the problem exists with users who are hosting with companies who provide inadequate dedicated “WordPress” hosting.
I have two separate URL’s, both using the same Total WordPress theme and Visual Composer, both hosted on shared SSD servers, yet both are having the same trouble.
Increasing memory limits in the php.ini file and deactivating plugins are not resolving the problem – this is a server issue and the problem only occurs when trying to upload multiple images at the same time into Grid using the Visual Composer plugin (Media Grid, Portfolio, etc).
I have contacted my hosting company and they have escalated my issue to upper tech support, and I will post my results when I have them.

In reply to: [Plugin: Visual Composer] Post grid doesn't work on a home pageI have the same problem and I’m reading in other posts that the problem began after WordPress updated to 4.5, combined with hosting companies who don’t offer true 100% WordPress hosting (that’s my laymen’s terms ‘true 100% WordPress hosting’).
I have two separate URL’s, both using the same Total WordPress theme and Visual Composer, both hosted on shared SSD servers, yet both are having the same trouble. The author of the theme and plugin are pointing back to my hosting company Inmotion Hosting where ironically, I found in their own support pages someone else having similar problems starting this past summer 2016.
Inmotion’s a great hosting company providing WordPress hosting, but I’m also reading that there is a big difference between $5.00 a month WP hosting and $30 a month with WPEngine (which I may migrate to new year).
One”fix” techs will first recommend is increasing memory limit in the php.ini file, but one of my websites already has the memory increased to 256MB months ago and problem still exists. I also tried deactivating plugins, and that didn’t resolved the issue. The issue is when only trying to upload multiple images at the same time, and that’s pointing back to ajax issue and such with inadequate WordPress hosting.
For $13.00, I’m going to buy ThemePunch’s Essential Grid plugin to see if I get the same problems and I’ll report back with the results.

In reply to: [Fixed Widget and Sticky Elements for WordPress] Sticky widget not working. After messing with the click boxes and margin settings, I got it to work fairly well, but not perfectly.
I clicked the “Auto fix widget id” and the “Use jQuery(window).load() hook:” boxes on, and I set the “widget_display_callback hook priority:” to 10.
I also set the “Screen Max Width” to 0, and I had to uncheck the “Inherent theme with responsive sidebar” option because that was making the sidebar spread out wide when the page was scrolled.
However, the display of the sidebar is still buggy depending on the screen width. When the screen width gets smaller, the sidebar is naturally pushed down below my content, but it “sticks” to the page and covers up the content.
I used some settings within my Total WordPress theme that hides a sidebar on smaller devices, but that didn’t stop the widget from appearing.
I gave the plugin 4 stars because I’ve seen it working really nicely on websites that DO NOT use a sticky header or responsive themes. So for a free sticky plugin, it’s great! But for someone who has limited knowledge in the back end workings of this technology, I think I’m going to have to spend the $18 for the Theia Sticky Sidebar as the author states it will work in most all responsive themes, and his preview pages seems to prove it.

In reply to: [Fixed Widget and Sticky Elements for WordPress] Sticky widget not working.I know the widget doesn’t work when you have a sticky header. For me, I could get the sidebar to stick but it caused my sticky header to scroll off the page.

In reply to: [Fixed Widget and Sticky Elements for WordPress] Visual Sidebar EditorI also just noticed that when using the plugin with Total WordPress theme, having the Q2W3 Fixed Widget “on” causes the sticky top header on Total theme not to work. Great little plugin, but just a few bugs that I cannot work with so I’m removing it.
I’m glad InMotion also pulled through for us, and I appreciate everyone’s input throughout this entire ordeal. And thanks again Alin for the great plugin!
+getgolfed… see if things are working now as when InMotion switched me to a different server, they sent me an email stating that although the transfer would be immediate, I should allow 24 hours for the transfer to complete and to postpone any changes to the site during that time.
Badda-Bing! InMotion moved me to a different server and now Alin’s plugin activated properly and is working again! Yea! And thank you Alin for providing such a great plugin over the years! I actually just had to look again to confirm the plugin is free… all of these great features and it’s free?! Thanks again for your sharing your talent!
Hi Alin,
I did click your link as suggested “for more details” but the page does not provide “fix.” I reported my host’s IP to Google, and I have brought the matter to InMotion’s attention too.
You mentioned in another thread/post/page that the hosting company needs to know about this type of problem ASAP, in case Google is perceiving their IP’s as being “out of country” when they might not be.
The same error response is occurring with 4 different Google Analytics plugins, not just yours. I tried Yoast, Digital Point, Google Analyticator by SumoMe, and yours, and they all respond with the same error code. Yoast’s actually did not responded with an error, but reacted the same way by basically not working.
My commoner’s deduction tells me the problem is either with Google Analytics, InMotion, or a combination of both. There’s users on other posts that have experienced similar problems earlier this year, and later last year too.
And although it appears some folks may have fixed the problem by pasting some code into a footer, I prefer not to go that route as this is obvious a problem that needs to be solved.
Yoast has asked that I create a staging site so they can dig deeper into the problem by looking on my website, and I spoke with tech support at InMotion last night and they are looking into the issue as well.
That website and article that I posted may be somewhat incorrect, as I searched my hosting provider’s IP address and it stated that my hosting provider’s IP address is located in Los Angeles. natcentral, do a reverse IP search on your website’s IP to see where your hosted.
