Thank you! We look forward to hearing back!
@neversettle but there is some kind of clash that is happening with object caching across different hosts, I think what @brakebeat is asking is whether this something you’re actively looking into?
Hey @neversettle I’m on Siteground and on PHP 7.4.27
I have to turn off Memcached to clone a site ?? definitely wasn’t always the case, but I’m not sure when it started.
Just confirming that on Siteground hosting they call the object cache “Memcached”.
I tried:
– flushing Memcache
– cloning site
– flushing Memcache againThis doesn’t work.
BUT if I turn of Memcached while I clone, and then turn it back on again, that seems to work.
@fizzgigg I’m on Siteground, and I managed to clone a site successfully the other day… I think the difference was that I turned OFF the object cache. I turned it back on later.
I haven’t had a chance to see if I can replicate the behaviour.
Thanks @brakebeat that’s interesting. I’ll need to talk to my host. @neversettle mentioned this might be the cause but clearing the object cache on Siteground didn’t do it for me. But given your experience I suspect maybe the issue is with Siteground’s cache or the clearing of it.
Thank you for coming back with the solution you found!
Thanks for the update @brakebeat – it’s unfortunate, we haven’t been able to figure it out either.
@neversettle support were to look into it, but my host ended up blocking their IP saying there were excessive requests coming from the address – no idea why that would be the case either.
Have you looked into a viable alternative?
Sorry for delay coming back…
@brakebeat that’s interesting that we have quite different setups and are experiencing the same issue.
@neversettle yes, was using Cloner successfully and happily for quite a while – but I had not needed to do a clone for a while, and in the meantime Siteground have updated their hosting, WordPress has had many updates, as has my theme and plugins.
However, the fact that @brakebeat is using different hosting, theme, and plugins would seem to indicate that it is not necessarily related to those things.
I’m still experiencing the same issue.
Hey @brakebeat I’m still trying to resolve this… support are looking into it as well.
Few questions for you – maybe we can narrow down why we are having this issue by finding what’s common between our sites…
– What hosting are you on? (I’m on Siteground)
– What theme are you using? (I’m using Divi)
– Do you use Jetpack? (I think Jetpack *might* be involved in the problem)Thanks,
FrankSo I checked and it was on, I assume you mean what Siteground call memcache. I ran a test and cloned a new site and flushed the cache but no joy.
However, your tip prodded something in my memory about running into a weird caching issue with Jetpack. I disabled Jetpack and the site appeared as it should WHILE I’m logged in.
If I open an incognito window and load the site I still see the default theme.
I ran the above test again and got the same results.
I am very confused.

In reply to: [Simple Membership] Can Simple Membership be used with Divi?Apologies for the delay replying, the email notification must have gone to my spam folder or something.
Thank you for replying, but I’m still confused about getting the plugin working with Divi.
Since posting originally I have identified where my main issue is. Here’s what’s currently happening.
Without the add-on above, when I protect pages, everything works EXCEPT I can’t access the Divi Builder to edit pages.
I can turn off protection and edit, and then turn it on again.
Here is that in action in a Youtube video.
If I add the add-on above, I still can’t edit in Divi because I get the blank restricted page when I try to edit.
The way the Divi Visual Builder works, it appears to be conflicting with how the content is protected.
Do you have any further advice on how to use the add-on above and still be able to edit pages?

In reply to: [Simple Membership] Partial or Section Protection in Divi theme or builderwebreneszansz can I ask, have you had any trouble with the Visual Builder failing to load in the backend on pages that are protected?

In reply to: [Polylang] Bad Support Experience – Don’t bother with this pluginAre you a paid user? I am very disappointed with the lack of engagement on this forum, but I had hoped at least that their paid support would be better.
