  • I don’t know how to turn on the php error log. Sorry. I’ll look into that. I am running the latest version 3.7.6.5. All of my other sites (I have about 10 that I “manage”) survived the upgrade fine once I took care of some headspace 2 problems.

I get the white screen since upgrading if I try to edit a post. I also cannot access the plugin control panel. I have tried several themes and have disabled all other plugins and nothing helps. I have also manually re-uploaded the wp-admin and wp-includes folders. If I go in by ftp and disable wp-ecommerce, the site goes back to normal except without the cart.

    Any ideas?

The problem with this is that my database isn’t visible on phpmyadmin any longer or I could do this.

I’ve checked the files and file permissions because I can still ftp the site and they haven’t changed from since I updated to the latest version when it recently came out.

It’s when I sign on as Admin to the site that my permissions are not sufficient, according to a message that appears. I can log in but am no longer an administrator, apparently.

And I don’t know why the site would be cited for mysql overload all of a sudden.

It’s very confusing to me. Thank you for answering, tho.

Nevermind. I guess I needed to deactivate all of the plugins before upgrading. The upgrade worked fine after I did that.

I’m not sure why I needed to deactivate the plugins with this site and not with the others I upgraded today, but I guess it doesn’t matter since the end was the justification of the means.

Sorry to take up space and time here. This was easily fixed by searching google for “wordpress strange characters.” Seems like many others have had the same problem and it’s very simple to fix.

I have exactly the same problem but… I have two installations of 2.1 done at approximately the same time on different sites on the same isp and one has the problem and one doesn’t.

Same browser (ie7) but there are some different plugins. Everything works well on both with the standard editor but the visual doesn’t work on one site and I get this error.
