    Alright, thanks.

I’ve tried changing my theme and it seems like it’s potentially the theme interfering, which could be possibly due to an update to the theme that I did a few days ago.

Is there any thing I can do to override whatever the theme is disabling? I tried to rollback to the previous version which didn’t have this issue (it took a minute but the categories option did load), but it keeps failing.

I believe potentially I’d have to make a child theme and put some voodoo magic code in there, right?

This would explain why the cronjobs are not running, because this resolution would be necessary.

that’s rather interesting, as the host has said that WP crons should not be affected. Alright, thanks. Guess I’ll have to stick to manually running crons for now, as I don’t really have any other idea where else to host my hobby site.

    I don’t think I have SSH access.

as far as I know, the error that domain access is blocked is normal, from the host’s end.

“This does not work on InfinityFree. Websites on InfinityFree use a security system that blocks automated access to websites hosted here. This also affects WordPress trying to access it’s own website. Connections like that may result in a 403 Forbidden response, or receiving the HTML code for the security challenge.”

    huh. Interesting.

I’d assume the remaining issues such as loopback requests are also from the host and aren’t that vital, right?
I mean, the site I’m hosting is a tiny one with little daily traffic anyways, so it’s not that big a deal if things are a little janky…

ah, I can’t believe I overlooked that. So sorry for the trouble.

Guess there is no alternative but to either get premium hosting or to manually perform the scheduled actions.

I’m not too sure with what you mean with my “frontend”, but yes, the site is public and accessible by all. I’ve had a handful of visitors, on average I get between 2 to 5 a day.

The problem with setting the hosting to activate crons is that the plan I’m on doesn’t support cronjobs. Is there potentially any plugin that could assist instead? Or is it a fundimental issue?
