It worked great for me until this latest revision. There are other highly rated plugins to choose from. I’d like to stick with Master Slider, but if they don’t release a fix soon, I’m going to keep the one I have now.

Thanks, Tristan. Right now I am using a different slider program. I did download the previous version of the Master slider from the link you sent, but I don’t have time to try and figure out how to upload it. I’m not a programmer so it was much faster for me to reactive the other slider program and create new sliders.

Argh… I can’t blame this on automatic updates… I can decide whether to update a plugin or leave it alone. I’m a novice WordPress user, so I have no idea how to delete the plugin folder and upload a backup version.

I just installed the update to Master Slider and now my whole website is screwed up so I had to deactivate the slider.

I am using Pinboard theme and had a beautiful master slider going across the top of my home page. After installing the update, the accompanying text stayed in the wide widget area but the actual slides appear on top of my page copy. Each new slide moves further down on the home page.

I also had a sidebar slider appearing on pages after the home page. Following the update, the slider I had in the sidebar now runs down the middle of my page content and not in the sidebar.

Hi innuvo. Thanks for the code. I’ll try it out. I actually had to release the site last week with a different theme that does not have the issues currently in evolve. Someone at WordPress made me a child theme to solve the only issue I had with the new theme.

My site is freshkitchenandbathdesign.com. I’m torn because I really like all the fonts and header customization options available in evolve. The evolve author just posted that the update has been approved for release and will be available soon. Will have to see which one I end up liking best.

I’m guessing the code above would work on any theme that has custom CSS if I want to reduce space in that area.

Sending more thanks to Tim for the child theme. I downloaded and installed it, and I really like this much better than the code snippet. Thanks! I bumbled around a bit trying to figure out how to upload it, but just followed a hunch and it worked.

Hi Tim. Thanks so much! I entered the code above in the custom CSS in the theme options and it worked for the most part. I think the font size is a little smaller than I was thinking, but it’s okay.

I will download the child theme and see how that works. Thanks for doing that for me.

I found a very easy way to add a slider to Pinboard theme. If I can figure it out, so can you because I am not a programmer. I prefer Master Slider over Meta Slider. More options.

1. Download the master slider plug-in.

2. Create as many slide-ins however you want them.

3. Go to Widgets and drag the Master Slider Widget onto the box marked Wide.

4. Click the down area on Select a Slider and click on the one you want to add to the top of your page. On mine, it appears just below the menu.

Thanks, Ivan, but that also got rid of my logo. My logo contains the company name. I would like to be able to display the tagline (description) next to the logo in the larger font that usually displays the site title.

I am not sure if I have the skill to create a child theme. I prefer to update custom CSS in theme options. Any other ideas?

Follow this path:
Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Blog

evafv76, see my comment earlier in the thread about how to work around the bug with the customization links so you can still update/edit your site.

Hi. Yes, I did exactly what you did and it didn’t work for me. When I re-posted my question in the other thread, the theme author responded and they are working on the problems. I’m not too concerned because I can still customize my site going in through Theme Options or selecting the item I want to edit from the left navigation menu. The author assures me that visitors to a live site will not experience any issues as we do while editing. Thanks for your help.

Woohoo! Thank you. I really like the theme. I love all the flexibility and customizations we can do without altering theme code.

Until the fix is ready, will it mess anything up if I continue to work around this as I described to grapha?

I’m planning to launch my new business and website by year-end. Does this problem only affect the site when you are working on it or would visitors to a live website run into some issues?

Hi grapha. Can you can work around this annoyance by clicking Appearance > Theme Options or clicking any of the menu items beneath Customize in the left navigation menu? I’ve been able to do this.

When you click on one of the customize links and you get the fatal error, just hit your back arrow and then click the menu item for the thing you want to customize, like header, widgets, etc.
