In reply to: [evolve] Problems customizing theme after updateHi grapha. Can you can work around this annoyance by clicking Appearance > Theme Options or clicking any of the menu items beneath Customize in the left navigation menu? I’ve been able to do this.
When you click on one of the customize links and you get the fatal error, just hit your back arrow and then click the menu item for the thing you want to customize, like header, widgets, etc.

In reply to: [evolve] Problems customizing theme after updateHi. I am having the same problem. My original question is in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/customize-link-broken?replies=9#post-6279603
My site is still under construction, so it’s not live, but if you need to see it I can make it live for a short time upon request.
I didn’t make changes to the actual theme files, but I did add some custom CSS and I am also using 6 plug-ins:
Breadcrumb NavXT
Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd
Contact Form 7
Google Analytics
Master Slider
WordPress SEOCan plug-ins mess up the theme?

In reply to: [evolve] Customize link BrokenI did read the post you refer to above. I will also pose my question there. I also tried your suggestion to deactivate theme, remove it, then re-install the new version, and the same error happens under the same circumstances.

WordPress SEOIf I am understanding what I’ve read correctly, I don’t really need a child theme unless I am going into the theme files and making changes. I can use plug-ins and custom CSS to get the results I want.
I’d be grateful for any other ideas you have. Thank you!

In reply to: [evolve] Customize link BrokenI’m also having this problem since upgrading. I can work around this annoyance, but is this problem going to blow up into something that ultimately destroys two+ months of work?
Where is the changelog.txt file I was supposed to read before upgrading?
I can still customize the site using the Theme Options menu, but if
I click on the Customize buttons from the Appearance > Themes > Evolve dashboard or the Customize menu on the left side of the screen, I get a similar fatal error as reported above:Fatal error: Call to a member function check_capabilities() on a non-object in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas01_data02/04/2235104/html/wp-includes/class-wp-customize-control.php on line 233
I am not a programmer and cannot follow the responses about how to fix. I don’t know how to remove the theme and deactivate it without screwing up all of the customization I have done in the last two months.
Not sure how to proceed from here. I was set to launch this website in the next two weeks and if I have to start over again, you’ll hear my shrieks around the world.
My site is in “Coming soon” mode, but since others have the same problem, I won’t make it active unless

In reply to: evolve them won't accept style change for bulletsActually, I kept searching the forum and found an identical problem that was solved with adding this to custom css:
ul { list-style: disc; }
ul li:before { content: none; }I changed disc; to square; and now mine is working as I want. Thanks y’all.

In reply to: evolve them won't accept style change for bulletsI did use the built-in custom CSS option in my theme and it didn’t work. See my original comment. I just found that code in another forum post. I’m not a programmer, so I have no idea if that was the right code.
I don’t know what I should put into my custom CSS option to change the > bullet characters to squares. Do you?

In reply to: evolve them won't accept style change for bulletsIt’s still under construction, so I just disable the Coming Soon plug-in so you can see it.
Thanks for taking a look.
