the nav/menu item works great, so simple just doesn’t have full drop down of all pages like previous WP. u have to know what u named the page, type first letters and it will auto display, then select it to become part of the menu. it’s so simple and quick to create a menu. i think Hans has a different issue from me.

Hans. WP 6.4 was released nov 7 2023. how could we in 2024 be the first to report it? it makes me think i’m doing something wrong LOL. if true issue i don’t see how it could have gotten past WP test phase and the theme/plugin developers testing.

i probably can’t view your website because i always have vpn active at startup. sites and hosting more and more r blocking vpn.

Hans, your screenshot url doesn’t work for me. interesting how i have only 2 pages to select for menu and you more. is there a more official method to report this? because what good is a website without a menu? hoping it’s something i’m doing wrong. i guess i could create a completely new domain and wp install from scratch to compare.

thanks james! i have my vpn on which google is blocking, google is denying me (i guess all vpns?) service. when i go to google directly it throws up a challenge captcha which i enter correctly each time yet google continues to display like i failed, even when i enter correctly a dozen times. i stopped using google years ago for non-spying/non-tracking startpage.com.

edit: now i think about it more, www.ads-software.com is gathering google results and displaying results within www.ads-software.com page. how does google know i’m using a vpn and to block the results because i’m a bad person, but how is google able to know this through www.ads-software.com page/website coding?

i believe i found it from WPGIZ buried in his “Edit WordPress Header and Footer | How to Edit Header and Footer in WordPress (+ Full Site Editing)” time 24.56. get into Edit Template, click on header block where the navigation menu is Settings Block click on Page and there’s a Settings LABEL box which will change the long Page name to whatever you want.

i tinkered around with WP PageBuilder and it doesn’t appear to add anything more than the other pagebuilders, in free mode.

do u agree, i believe a simple strong site would contain:
1. header (logo, tel, menu, social icons) but this is controlled by most themes, right?

2. body (this would be easy with WP Pagebuilder or any free one)

3. footer (this is controlled by theme?) 8 years ago FooterPutter worked a plugin but now abandoned.

what Elementor Pagebuilder gives novices like me is dragdrop BLOCKS within the editor which also create Header+menu+social icons, Footer in drag blocks in the page that they’ve coded to override the theme’s header/footer functions. i think that’s what’s happening. but these premium blocks are pay, annual fee for their Elementor. the theme Astra had a few free header, footer functions but not enough, u need to purchase their premium theme astra too. with hosting, domain, all wp theme, plugins it’s $350 for a nice looking site for a non-coder. times 8 sites for friends it’s just too much for non-revenue making sites, only family and friends view a couple times per month.

all my sites have one user/admin login, me. all set up as display/information sites as i think many others are too so we don’t worry about the problem of having valid users being banned. so an option to allow disallow all login attempts “except from user … (admin)” i think would be useful.

studentcaffe – thank you for the suggestion, it crushed the text but did move the two widget rows together. i asked many times, many years how i could myself look at the css/html code and try to find variables like (line-height: 0;) and try to experiment myself. i’ve asked how you know what to put in the vantage “Row Styles” Attributes… even the plugin authors have never replied. (no one has). maybe that’s the way they make money so i can understand. maybe we have to identify a specific row id, row class, cell class…? actually i have no idea what these do but i can follow instructions when i do see suggestion for css php and tell exactly where to put the code not just “add some css and that will fix it” LOL! i’ve tried Firebug on firefox (mac sierra) and i never can see exact css code lines or html line. i thought it was supposed to work – when you move your pointer over an area of a website Firebug is supposed to show you all the css and hmtl active? i don’t see any.

how did you know that “line-height: 0;” was an active variable in this part of my page?

i still have about 5 pixels between 2 widgets within 1 Pagebuilder row. i did this customer css method above and the Settings>Page Builder>Row Bottom Margin = 0

between Disaster and blue text box.

all latest versions, Vantage theme.

@jarryd-long i AM POSITIVE your map didn’t work within Siteorigin Vantage PageBuilder before but now since your post above it does work. it’s the Twilight Zone or you/sitorigin just fixed it because last week and for years it didn’t work. i even create a Page in the same site withOUT PageBuilder, display fine. another Page with PageBuilder no display. i’ve used your map several years and it would never work in PageBuilder but today it does! maybe you’re a Magician? but today i CONFIRM WP Google Maps works in PageBuilder Vantage. (i always used the correct shortcode).

working now as before. but Siteorigin Vantage Theme using PageBuilder no map shows up but i’m pretty sure that issue has always been Siteorign PageBuilder issue? i see the map/pin in Vantage Theme on a page i didn’t create with PageBuilder.

a note for user having trouble with API keys at google console. i’ve had a lot of problems, i’m a low level admin that creates basic sites for small businesses/friends so i log into about 15 diff gmail/youtube/google webmaster/ and now API Console accounts. even if i’m logged into a clients’ account google auto switches me back to what it thinks should be the main account. google seems to mix up the API keys too when trying to sign up. i don’t know if this is google or mac/firefox browser cache, i’m not that good to figure that out.

wph4, the 3 images in the front page slider are 1170×500. i have the customizr front page slider option set to 500.
