weeks later using another plug in (forgot which) it needed a FB app id too. this time it was back to easy, like 3 entries and i got an app id and secret code. i have no idea what triggers the easy/impossible FB hoops and i have no time to figure it out just to get a plug in working. i don’t even know if i have to create a new app id in FB or if i can use the same one for every app/plugin that says it needs one?

i understand now and thank you for taking the time to explain in detail! is there a way to know that i have properly filled out all your fields in the backend so that i know i have your NGFB working optimally? as stated, i’ve created about 10 FB App in previous years and i cannot get past the TESTING hurdle now, and the FB Apps have to be submitted for review. am i only one to notice this or have these new requirements in the FB developers page?

my problem: couldn’t get NGFB to feed a WP Post to my business FB page, i was copying and pasting the entire url into your field
“Facebook Business Page URL” (as i did in all the other social plugins). doesn’t work in NGFB. i stripped off the numerics, 14 digits, at the end of my FB business page url so it only contained alpha and NGFB did feed the WP post to my business page. (i have no idea what the numerics at the end of FB pages are for, maybe when i merged these FB accounts into one admin? but they took in other WP plug ins).

it’s confusing for someone coming from Jetpack where they have social buttons which show up on the front end of Pages and Posts but have a completely diff function (pack) called PUBLICIZE which is on the WP Post backend creation (like NGFB) which immediately feeds my FB when i click Publish. and NGFB also puts “social buttons” on the WP Post front end display. so what is the diff in NGFB when i’m in the backend creating a WP Post and in the back end i do a FB SHARE and on the front of the WP Post and i can click on the NGFB Share button?

well i tried my best, i give up with NGFB. i’ve gotten jetpack share buttons and Publicize to work. i got Sumome to work but maybe it’s only the Share page not Publicize like jetpack and NGFB call it. most of my friends barely can log into FB, i was a programmer 20 years ago for 10 years, i just don’t see how the majority can figure some of this out.

i have a FB personal page with business page i want NGFB to Publicize. in NGFB i don’t clearly see the distinction between NGFB Share Buttons and NGFB Publicize? (Publicize is what jetpack calls it which is different than their jetpack Share buttons).

NGFB > General > Facebook
1. you ask for my business page (i do)
2. ask for admin user which it seems can only be my personal FB name
3. i have apps in my developers sections from months/years past. you don’t say if we can use those old app ids? i tried to set up a new App and just forget it. i spent 65 min. filling out this (new?) form info required then the last step asking for testing fb ids… no matter what i entered it would take, i have no idea how to test the app, i gave up. how did i set up 6 apps in the past years?

i don’t see how even the top 5% intellect in the world can figure this junk out!

the Post does NOT go to the business page. when i change to my personal url it goes to the personal FB page, but obvious no use to me. twitter works.

some conflicts might be caused, last month, i merged some facebook separately created facebook accounts (all the same person, same subject) into one Admin FB id.

i wish i could get NGFB working because i don’t want to use jetpack anymore because it seems them forcing us to link to wordpress.com is some sinister motive?

thank you. if i have duplicate content (text images) in a WP Page and a WP Post, is publishing a WP Post’s meta tags (via NGFB) into my FB more POWERFUL (seo and stuff) than posting the the WP Page url in my FB page? what is the advantage of NGFB?

phil – there’s no relationship between the “ID” in “Galleries” and putting that ID number in your shortcode (like we do in Nextgen).

you have to go to “Generate Shortcode” menu option and MAKE SURE you SELECT your gallery on the top left side then go down to bottom left and “Generate” shortcode.

today is my first day using Photo Gallery and it’s pretty nice so far.

C W, i pasted your get rid of all underline into the theme and it works. and thank you for tip on child theme, i have been doing that.

the textwidget code, where i placed it, didn’t work BUT i just guessed.

especially for entry level wordpress users, i’d highly recommend what i use, siteorgin Page Builder, their Vantage Theme, and you must have Black Studio TinyMCE Widget which becomes the Wysiwyg editor in each row/column Page Builder creates. it’s a widget. you can make really pro looking sites easily.

if you look at these links you can see they give us a place to override? css on that page? i’ve done a lot of searching and can’t find one example on how to use those fields and i’m guessing that’s where your textwidget css should go but i cannot get it to work.

me like many others i think, can follow copy/past instructions but i do get lost, like where they said “remove your bodyimage class” – i have no idea how to do that. i just copied it to the theme and saved but it didn’t remove the black line.

1. how do you create your final image with perfect alignment of the 2 images in the new double height final image? i took my image height x 2. created a new image and dragged in the 2 swap images. there can be a lot of alignment errors my way.

2. i put your CSS in my child-theme. if using PageBuilder by Siteorign, can your CSS be put into the Widget Styles (Widget Class, CSS Styles) fields on each Page / Row they give us? thus avoiding putting the css code in the theme.

thank you for the reply. read all those sources, i disabled all plugins (still Map not working). i put the shortcode [mapsmarker marker=”1″] in Page Builder Page and the map doesn’t work. i put the shortcode in basic wordpress made Page and the Map displays correctly. (i disabled all plugins except Page Builder, Leaflet Maps, Black Studio Tiny MCE because i thought disabling might destroy the Pages i’ve already created. my site is finished except for the Map).

finding the Map not working i searched and only found your above post which is the only change i made. but as i remember this was already the default setting.
“To fix this, please navigate to settings / misc / “general settings” and set the option “Where to include Javscript files on Frontend?” to “header (+inline javascript)”.”

@wpyogi thank you! i just had some ‘conflicts’ with plugin on other themes i’ve tried so i try to stay with WP and 2014 was excellent but now new design is full width especially with larger monitors and tv’s connected to net. i could never hire anyone, i’d have to give up WP and i cannot because i love WP!

but 2 worlds are evolving, larger monitors/TVs with now cell phone use (tiny screens). i edited my post above and you didn’t see it so copy here.

ps. 2015 is a Responsive theme as is 2014 which i use on 20 sites. why aren’t ALL the big corporations’ sites i go to are NOT Responsive themes? why? are they behind? cause the WP responsive theme is perfect for large monitors/TVs and tiny cell phones, right?

pss. i don’t have one Post on any of my sites, i’m 100% Page sites.

@wpyogi – thanks for the reply. is your answer the final answer, i mean really the only method to achieve a full width, same like www.ads-software.com front page? cause i looked at your links, i already do simple child themes stuff when someone posts a few lines of css to paste in. i have no ability to do stuff on the Custom_Page_Template link you posted. i’m not complaining to you, i appreciate you giving me the facts so i don’t waste time looking to do something i’m not capable of! LOL!

1. i would need drop down box creation from within the 2015 theme
or (and i think 100K wordpress users can do this)
2. give us some code to copy into the child theme.
a. this gives you 4 horizontal sections
b. this give you identical to www.ads-software.com
…
then we can go in and just change the colors and text… looking at Custom_Page_Template i wouldn’t even know where to start so i give up! LOL!
