did you try to disable “Enable HTTP (gzip) compression” in W3TC/Browser Cache/Cascading Style Sheets & JavaScript?

then you should have minify – but no gzip (which is not working correctly anyway).

– then you should have the minimum loss of functionality..

yes – i can get a running site with no files in the minify lists, css & js not gzipped (.. or only partly – dunno why).

but i decided for to have the listed files minified & combined and can live with css & js not gzipped.

tried both options for me the second is faster (testet with webpagetest.com).

ok, you switched minify to manual, but did you then add some files..
that′s where the trouble starts for the rest of us.

the error boils down to no gzip but minify working, if you switch in “Browser Cache” js/css gzip OFF..

btw Html gzip works for me according to webpagetest.com

<IfModule mod_ext_filter.c> insted of <IfModule mod_filter.c> doesnt fix it. ??

no css/js files produced in the minify cache folder.

as for now i will stick with js/css “Browser Cache” gzip OFF..

interesting finding! i also just found out that it boils down to

no js & css on page with js/css “Browser Cache” gzip ON:

that′s a good point! in the end it IS GZIP what the error converges to.
i can switch on minify for js and css => js and css broken follows

but if i disable “Enable HTTP (gzip) compression”
in W3TC/Browser Cache/Cascading Style Sheets & JavaScript my page is fine!

no more “Bad file param format” when i try to read a css or js or just testfile.txt from the minify cache ..wp-content/w3tc/min/0fb4a/ in my case.

so something with the .htaccess is fishy..

yeah, this is a massive piece of software!

it guess most of us users, who now moan about broken minify functionality, just suffer from a side effect -typo maybe- of many major enhancements in other areas.

did you check with webpagetest.org – i also get it “running” but with no minify or gzip functionality.

w3tc is also not gzipping etc.

no minify sounds like a minor problem, but my page doubled in size & has some extra files to serve:

We will see.
Our gifted author will find a solution – I got the feeling there is a typo somewhere. Have to stop searching, worst case I will deinstall & downgrade.

but maybe you are logged in admin in firefox? Then in FF you will get the un-minified <working> version..

With switched on CSS minify I tried copying the three “good old” css files in place.

..just to find out “default.include.css.id” containing “615365546” gets overwritten by default.include.css.id containing “i:615365546;”

maybe this info helps further..
