In reply to: 404 not found errorhi steven
thank you for your response – much appreciated.
1. https://sacredriver.co.za/fundamental-uncertainty/
2. hosted by commercial host which i access via cPanel
3. i’ve done this again now, message at top appearing, ‘permalink structure updated’, but no change … all pages except home page still gives 404 error page. (i’ve tried to find the .htaccess file via cPanel, but can’t find it in the ‘public_html’ root directory).thanks
Hi … i followed the guide as per the previous post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/recommended-features-failed-to-activate-api404error/
and found this error message:<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN”>
<html><head>
<title>404 Not Found</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Not Found</h1>
<p>The requested URL /wp-json/jetpack/v4/settings was not found on this server.</p>
<p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p>
</body></html>hi there, mark ..
thank you for your detailed answer – very much appreciated! i’ll enter into the process then and see where it leads!
one last question, if i may? is there any difference in the visibility of posts on the wordpress.com reader between 1) those posted on a self-hosted www.ads-software.com site linked via paid jetpack subscription, and 2) a wordpress.com blog-post?
thank you.

In reply to: can’t access jetpack ‘contact support’thank you, regina, i will try out that forum.
to answer your question, yes i do have another wordpress.com account, but did in fact buy via the correct wordpress.com account – since you asked, i checked and also tried to login with both account details and both behave the same way.
thank you again for your help.
hi rocio,
again, much appreciated!
that does answer my questions.thank you, roccio. much appreciated!
i am new to being on www.ads-software.com … perhaps there is an easy answer to this that i am not seeing, so please bear with me … as a blogger one wants exposure to people who don’t know of your site at all, where your blogs get posted for anyone to see, people who do not already know of your site (i.e. those who do not already have your sites’ RSS feed) – i understand from your response that one does not get this exposure on wordpress.com as a self-hosted www.ads-software.com, not even via the subscription module from jetpack? correct? if so, how does everyone else who have blog-sites created via www.ads-software.com get this exposure?
thank you
Hi Samuel
I have the same problem … I put my site’s url under the link you provided, but still when I search the WordPress.com reader as if for new sites to follow – and even if I do a search using the exact title of my blogpost, the wordpress.com reader does not show my post. How do I get my posts on a my self-hosted site and created on www.ads-software.com to appear on the WordPress.com reader where others can discover my posts when they search for new sites to follow?
Thank you
Fritz
