Thank you for responding so quickly. So I already have the error log enabled somehow. This is the code from the error log.

[20-Sep-2023 19:48:09 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_escape_string() in /home/sweettw2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/comment-reply-notification/comment-reply-notification.php:113

It looks like the issue is the plugin. I disabled it and it looks like everything is working again now.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I was expecting a battle to fix this. Who knew it was that easy! ??

    Thank you again.

Thanks Esmi, do you mean each featured image since the images do show in the post after FTP’ing them back to the uploads folder which makes them show on the blog but not the featured images?

If I upload everything back through WordPress, won’t that give them all a new permalink and I’ll have to edit all posts manually?

I forgot to mention in the above post that before moving the blog to the temporary directory I tried:

    – switching to 2012 theme
    – deactivating and resetting the plugins with no success.
    – uploading all files from a fresh install of WordPress apart from the content folder.

Esmi – I’m having the same problem. However, I’ve tried doing all the steps above (except I didn’t have the twenty eleven theme but the twenty twelve) in your 1st reply and still the problem persists.

I’m on shared hosting it appears and all my files are 644 permissions and the folders are 755 as it says it should be on the WordPress page you linked to also.

On another shared hosting account (different URL) I’ve set up a test wordpress blog to test the trackbacks/pingbacks functions and it works for that.

So I’m thinking of attempting to set up another WordPress blog from scratch on the same domain as my problematic blog and seeing if that works. if it does, is there a way of moving my posts, comments, etc. to that new installation without it causing the same error?

    Thanks for your help.

It’s not a harvesting website, it’s a security measure because of all the brute force attacks on WordPress sites. My host is doing the exact same with the same pop up and link.

On the link, it gives you the username and password to enter into the pop up, which will then redirect you to your WordPress login page. ??

Jeremy, I’m using a Genesis child theme and have specified a custom header under Appearance > Header but it doesn’t show my custom header, background, etc. on the mobile site.

Some of the replies here are conflicting. Do I add the custom_theme_support string to the theme.php file or the functions.php file? On the page you linked to in reply #7 it states the theme file and shows what strings to add to add support for the background as well as the header too. Which I’m hoping will resolve the issues.

Do you have any suggestions for my site to get this working for me?

    Thanks in advance.

I’m having the exact same problem too. In the settings page there is nothing about the header, but my header is set in my theme options.

Hoping for a fix to this.

Absolutely. I removed all the Pinterest CSS from the theme settings page, then deleted the plugin and removed all the files and reinstalled then it seemed to work.

I’ve tried numerously deleting the plugin and reinstalling before trying the above, so it must’ve been something in the CSS. Glad it’s working now again.

    Hi Sean,

I fixed it! Can you believe that? It’s working again.

Thanks so much for all your help you’ve provided so far and for the great plugin.

    I’m super duper happy now.

Wonderful, thank you so much. It’s working perfecto now.

Thanks for your help and time. I appreciate it.

Try commenting the following code from your CSS file (remember to backup your CSS file in case this is not the problem):

I’m not sure what you mean by commenting?

I’ve checked my themes CSS file and that set of CSS for the Pinterest button is in there. It’s the same as you quoted above too.

No, still not working. ?? I’ve set the max image size to 640px on both large image size and in the plugin settings. I’ve even tried deactivating all my plugins other than yours to see if there is a conflict and still no joy.

I can’t understand why it’s not working for me yet seems to be working for others. It used to work, albeit randomly before the 1.0 update but since then, not at all.

Could it be from what I said above about changing servers? Is there anything I can check? File permissions or anything else? There has to be something funky blocking it from working. Could it be a database issue because I changed servers?

I’m willing to check anything if it gets it up and running again.

    Thanks
    -Lisa.

Any luck on replicating the problem, Sean?

I just thought of something that ‘may’ be causing my error. I set-up my blog on a different server that it is now as I knew I was switching over to WordPress at the time. So I got everything just right then transferred the files, database etc. as per instructions on WordPress for moving servers.

Everything else other than scheduling a post is fine (that doesn’t work for me). I’m wondering if it could be this that’s causing it?

If there’s anything else I could check in the meantime, let me know.

    Thanks

Anyone? I’m using Genesis and one of their child themes. I really need to get this fixed and prefer not to use a plugin if I can help it but looks like I may have to.

Thanks Sean. I’ve uploaded my own image and changed the dimensions as stated and got it looking a perfect fit for my blog.

Just hope you are able to replicate the issue and work towards a fix.

Thanks for your time and effort.
