Thanks for the tip, unfortunately only when creating the variation (filling in a cost amount is mandatory, I do € 0.00) but the download button does not appear, but only add to shopping cart and no download button appears in the shopping cart itself

These steps did not resolve the issue. My wordpress URL and site URL are different could it have something to do with that? And if so can I change the ajax-path to be called?

It is solved. It was a plugin conflict (Jetpack) and / or WordPress version issue.

Unfortunately I cannot make a copy of the homepage with the same functionalities. I use a shortcode in a widget area. Both in the sidebar widget area and a specially created widget area the slider does not work (anymore) in the sidebar the area remains completely empty / white. And the loading circle keeps spinning in the custom widget area.
