In reply to: Total number of pages/photos possible?Yes, WP can accommodate those numbers. Your the scaling/loading concerns are valid but should be directed to your host provider. Additionally, since you have many pics, I would ensure each picture is web optimized.

In reply to: wordrpess/SEO question.I second esmi’s experience. Although I have had SEO plugins installed, I never use them and all of my sites are faring just fine. I prefer organic methods of SEO.

In reply to: local wordpress installation on 84" plasmaYou don’t need to necessarily design for 3840 x 2160. In many cases, you can design for a somewhat common resolution, like 1280 x 800, and the site would simply be magnified on the plasma. I regularly present on large TVs and even larger projectors (up to 20 ft) and it has never been a problem.
Not only will it be easier for you, but the site will also be more flexible so it can be displayed from most typical sources.
The biggest thing to watch out for is the quality of the images. Finding the right balance of size vs quality on large screens is key so you neither have a slow site nor pixelated images.

In reply to: Blinking TextDepends on where you want to put it. If you want it in your post, you can simply click on the text tab. If you want it elsewhere, you can drop it in either via FTP or WP admin through Appearance | Editor.

In reply to: Blinking TextThere are several ways to do it. One common way is just using HTML <blink> </blink> tags.

In reply to: Is my theme bad for seoI was just giving you examples. You’ll have to find what’s the best balance of your interest vs. what’s not already a cornered market. You can use the Google keyword tool to help.

In reply to: No Search Engine results! That should be enough time.
I just Googled that URL and it did show up in results. So it looks like Google has indexed it; the site simply doesn’t have good SERP.

In reply to: No Search Engine results! How long ago did you cut over to self-hosted WP? Google doesn’t pick everything up in real time.

In reply to: Is my theme bad for seo@hamayon, there are many tactics you can try to gain traction. Here are a few things you could try:
– Respond to every comment
– Visit the your commenters’ sites and leave a comment
– Offer to write a guest article for like-niche sites
– Write an article asking for guest articles for your siteFrom a long-term perspective, you could hone in on a sub-niche topic. Having broad business and technology topics puts you in competition with too many sites. So instead of new technology, you could focus on something like phone apps or cloud-based services. In fact, even those are big nets to cast. You can go to an even deeper sub-niche and try to be the expert for that.

In reply to: Is my theme bad for seoIn many cases, the theme can only help or hurt SEO just a tiny bit. Sure, you can use SEO and sitemap plugins to help but my initial thought is that there are two big factors in why search engines aren’t driving a lot of traffic to you at the moment:
1. You are in business/technology niche, which is very competitive. Any site that’s been up for only a few months typically not be anywhere near the top of any search.
2. You do not have a lot of engagement yet. Your articles only have 0-3 comments each.
The good news is that you’re producing a lot of unique content. In the near term, you could also focus on generating more activity on your site.

In reply to: Phantom Post in SERPSJust making sure I understand what you’re asking. What’s the thing you want to get rid of? The plugin? The comments? The visibility to Google?

In reply to: Organizing conent – CMS and SEOSome of this depends on how many of each grouping that you have. If I assume that you have only 5-7 topics, I would use those as the first level categories. Whether or not you need a second level is up to you. For authors and keywords, I would simply use tags.

In reply to: Creating a Models WebsiteYou can certainly do this with “standard” wordpress. Each model would simply have his/her own page. It doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything that requires anything special.
All you have to do is find a template you want to start with and begin adding your content. You may find that you’ll want plugins for other features that may come up.
