In reply to: [3rd Party Authentication] [Plugin: 3rd Party Authentication] Plugin broken? Thanks for the link, Cody. One question though — would the fix mentioned in your blog allow me to have regular WP users AND Google Apps users? Because that is what I’m looking to have… regular users for my readers, and GApps users for members of my family domain name.
Thanks!

https://gabriel.mongefranco.comAwesome! Thanks for fixing this bug, Kevin.
Actually, never mind about the HTML bug. I didn’t realize that I copied & pasted text from another plug-in that was escaped. ??
I still see the Hide Private Posts bug occurring though.
I think I found another bug…
I enabled “Hide private Posts (instead of teasing)” for both posts and pages. Private posts no longer show up in search results or the home page, as expected, but if a user knows the permalink, he can still see them. Luckily, the teasers are still applied, but users should get a 404 error when they click the permalink of a private post.

https://gabriel.mongefranco.comIs there something you can fix on the plug-in to prevent this issue? Otherwise, when WordPress upgrades its jquery version, this plug-in will automatically fail. Just my two cents…

https://gabriel.mongefranco.comO wow, you actually released a fix for the search page issue right away! Thank you so much. You have some great customer service skills! ??

https://gabriel.mongefranco.comNyaku, this *might* be related to another issue I reported here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-user-access-manager-broken-html-handling?replies=1#post-1847696. Just a thought.

https://gabriel.mongefranco.comHi Veraxus — I ran into plug-in last night called User Access Manager. It already implements some of the things in my suggestions, but it doesn’t have the easy-to-use group/user handling that this plug-in has. Each group is connected to WordPress roles. However, you might get some ideas on how to handle ownership control from this plug-in. That is something that the author was very clever about!

https://gabriel.mongefranco.comPatyuen, thank you for comments and for explaining your position. However, I do not think it’s right to bash a plug-in simply because you find no use for it. I happen to find this plug-in very useful, so I do not agree with your comments. If you do not find this plug-in useful, just don’t use it. ??
To the plug-in author: please keep up the good work!
Best regards,
Gabriel Mongefranco
https://gabriel.mongefranco.comThis is still an issue for me. IE8 reports a scripting issue in Bit Defender’s bd-js.php whenever both plug-ins are active, but not when only one is active.

In reply to: [Plugin: CaPa Protect] Custom new roles not appearingIt seems this plug-in has the default WordPress roles hard coded. To change it, someone would have to write a function to pull the roles from the database and fill the array with these. The only problem is that 4-5 categories barely fit in the GUI as it is, so the GUI will likely need to be re-written as well.
