Hello @robertboyl,
Please, check our information on how we control and handled metadata inside your photographs here: https://www.imagely.com/docs/image-meta-data/
Titles
If your photo metadata before uploading has a title, then NextGen Gallery will use that. But if there is no meta title then the image’s name is a required field and we are automatically getting it from the image’s filename.Subject / Description / Caption
NextGen Gallery imports the “subject” of your photo or “Caption” into that “Description” field for each photo.Tags/Keywords
Image “tags” are picked up from the “keywords” in the image metadata when uploading/importing.We hope that this helps!
Hello @mc33133,
Apologies for the late reponse.
It seems that you already solved the problem.
But we were going to suggest checking any other available Lightbox Effect. Here is more information:
https://www.imagely.com/docs/lightbox-effects/Hello @hrow,
Sorry about the late response.
Unfortunately, www.ads-software.com doesn’t allow us to address pro support questions here in the free forum. We can only address NextGEN Gallery [Free] questions only.
Since you mentioned our Masonry gallery display, please submit a support request through this form: https://www.imagely.com/contact/.Because we need to work with you on this through a support ticket, I am going to mark this thread resolved.
Hello @monatherese,
We will be happy to help. Please, address any sales question to our contact form: https://www.imagely.com/contact/. Use the option “Pre-Sales.” We’ll proceed to close this ticket.
On “Please select the category that best fits the reason for your contact” select “Pre-sales”.
Because we need to work with you on this through a support ticket, I am going to mark this thread resolved.
Hello @rojobe,
My suggestion will be for you to re-insert the gallery without using the Legacy option and see if that works for you.
If the problem persists, a conflict check will be ideal.
Let’s check if it is an existing conflict:
– Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
– Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
– If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could be a conflict with your current theme.Note: a full website backup is encouraged before checking for conflicts.
Hello @support0doll,
Some variables control uploads.
In those, interact with the amount of space available in your serverside, policies and rules, and sometimes even memory limits. It seems that your requirements exceed the capacity of the environment.
You can, of course, troubleshoot everything taking into consideration: the number of plugins installed, hosting platform, the size of those images. And you can reduce page load with cache plugins or image optimizations plugins like Short Pixel, for example.Hello @drossy,
Apologies for the late response.
If you are to remove our plugin manually, it shouldn’t remove your photos or gallery information. But we always recommend creating a full website backup. You can also refresh the plugin files. Now WordPress offers that option without the need to remove the plugin manually.
We hope that this helps!
Hello @bladetwick,
Thank you so much for sharing.
NextGEN Gallery does not read or edit or share information on other plugins.
The images were probably visible on google because it is required for most of our clients to allow crawling to images thumbnails, even inside tags (whenever a gallery includes keywords)Nevertheless, that option could be controlled with plugins like Yoast, for example.
We are really focused on making our product secure.
The developers already created an issue that will allow the users to block the crawling of those images tags.Thank you so much again for sharing.
We will keep you posted.Thank you @karks88!
Hello @janvanarkel,
Have you tried to enable WordPress debug mode to see if there are any other clues about the problem?
Hello @pierreraby,
Have you tried to deactivate, remove the plugin and re-install?
Hello @xpressooo,
The plugin does not support CDN integration at the time being.
But we have a feature request, please, share your vote here:
https://www.imagely.com/feature-voting/Hello @rojobe,
Thank you so much for sharing.
When you mentioned:Updated to Version 3.3.20 of the plugin and then found that on mobile platforms the Galleries weren’t working properly: the first image showed, but using the ‘next’ tab resulted in no image showing.
Could you please let us know what Gallery display were you using?
If possible, please share with us the shortcode.
We truly appreciate any feedback, since we might need to report this one back to the developers.Hello @drossy,
Our recommendation is for you to create a full website backup first, and then try to check your Site’s folders. Perhaps the folder of the plugin is there and you need to remove it manually.
Here is more information about the location of our plugin’s folder: https://www.imagely.com/docs/installing-and-updating-nextgen-gallery/
Sometimes this issue is also visible whenever the permission of the folder is not following the standards https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/changing-file-permissions/

In reply to: [Photo Gallery, Sliders, Proofing and Themes - NextGEN Gallery] Custom FieldsHello @michael-divine,
Apologies, but about the plugin called “Advanced Custom Fields: NextGEN Gallery Field add-on,” we do not support that third party plugin.
My suggestion is, of course, to try to test another custom field plugin. If you are having issues of any kind, please, let us know.
