In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts? It’s a matter of time. I am Gaia Health – researcher, writer, graphics, site designer, marketer (such as that is), fire-putter-outer, and chief bottle washer. Working through that is one more thing … and one more thing is too much right now.
I’ll wait until it’s fixed – or the day comes when I can have someone else do a redesign with a better theme.
Thanks for giving it a go. I do understand about the priority. This is a fix for a client with a problem not of your making. It’s not where you need to put your efforts right now.

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?I had a feeling that would be the problem. It’s got to be a conflict in CSS coding.
The theme is Volt, purchased from Themeforest. I’ve had conflict problems with this theme and plugins before. This is the first time I want to stick it out to be able to use it. (Other share plugins seem not to work well with it, either, by the way, though some do.)
I can use your plugin the horizontal static position, though I don’t think it’s displaying as nicely as it should – but it’s not bad.
Thank you for taking the approach you are – nice and professional.

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?Just so you know, I’ve just set up the floating bar to display vertically – and it works fine.

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?P.S. If we can get this working, I’m going to be hyped. It’s the best looking social sharing tool I’ve seen – and it most certainly does pick up pre-existing counts.

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?Okay, I have downloaded yours (on the Cunjo site), and set it up to do the nonfloating type – bottom of page. All went fine until it was done. It displayed badly. The icons were vertical, they were very far apart, and they didn’t display right, either. I’ve disabled it for now.
Does this mean there’s a conflict with something? If so, do you have any idea what it would be?

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts? That would explain things! I am so sorry!
Does yours show counts?

It’s at the bottom of the article. Notice that it does pick up the count from Google Plus, but doesn’t add it into the total count. And it doesn’t pick up any of the others unless they’re new since late yesterday.

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?I just checked cunjo, and yes, it is getting clicks. (But it doesn’t show any from Google?) And yes, I’m sure that the previous one (still installed on the page) is recording the real thing, because it originally picked up the same numbers that existed on the previous sharing tool. I’ve also noticed that the count can decrease if someone removes a share on Facebook.

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?I just installed and set up your plugin – but it does NOT display previous shares!

In reply to: [Cunjo: The Best Free Social Share Plugin] Maintain Counts?Thank you! I’m going to download it now.
I do appreciate your response, and will keep it in mind. In many respects, I preferred your plugin with the one I now have and may reconsider.
Thank you for your honest and responsible reply.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Suppress display of directory name in address barThe display of shares to social sharing sites is based on the page address. If you move the page, then you lose the number of times a page has been shared.

In reply to: Suppress display of directory name in address barThanks for responding, WP Bum Member.
That would result in the loss of all the shares in Facebook, Twitter, and such. Though I do want to lose that subdirectory display, it’s not worth that price to me.

In reply to: Pagination, how to implement within a postThat took care of it – thank you.
Interestingly, the <!–nextpage–> code was placed between <h3> </h3> tags, like this: <h3><!–nextpage–></h3>
As it turns out, there’s a conflict with the theme I’m using, which became obvious with the h3 tags, as it placed the page tags inside the <h3></h3> codes. So it appears that no pagination will work until I go to a new them – a task I’m not looking forward to.
That’s a shame – but this isn’t the first thing that hasn’t worked with this theme. Now, if only I could figure out a way to select a theme that plays well with others!
