In reply to: WP-Piwik Auth tokenHi kjodle,
I am thinking you mean administration under Piwik. I downloaded and installed WP-Piwik from plug-ins and activated. I think that was my mistake. My WP-Piwik Settings page looks nothing like the screen shots. I am wondering if I needed to install Piwik first before plugin?
Could this be the problem?
I do not have a Piwik admin page, all the piwik db was installed in my instance of wordpress. I did not create an instance and have Piwik installed first.
Thanks for your input. I will read your link and try permission changes. If doesn’t work, Maybe XAMPP, since we do not use MACs.
Cheers.

In reply to: Local host to onsite production serverBack from Vacation sorry for the delay and yes it does help. Thanks so much for your reply. I have been trying to learn all the ins and outs to set up an environment that will work for our internal users. Not familiar with using the user permissions feature and setting up for blogs has made this challenging. So far I have only used WP for static content.
I have been through the forums and doing training videos from lynda.com, which have been helpful. But getting information from forum members has been great.
Cheers.

Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Question about Best installs for Self Hosted SiteYes. I have it designed in Web Matrix. I have had a lot of issues with it, specially updating. Have a new server to develop new site. The original one is static website.. I want to make this one with several blogs, so I want it to be easier to work with, easier to update. Intend to use CMS feature.
When trying to update on production server it wants FTP, where before it would auto update, try to delete plugins, can’t. It has just been buggy. Sometime I can import an image and sometimes I cannot.

Here is what I did.
Drill down to directory folder WP-Content. In this folder is a folder called uploads..
Right click go to properties. choose security tab and choose IUSR. Give this user write persmission it should have these permissions checked:
List folder contents
Read
Write
permissions. This worked for my problem.Hope this helps.

You need to make sure your application pool user for the site has modify permissions to the uploads folder.
