I’ve hit the Reset button, and will attempt to generate the index again momentarily.
The PHP version is 8.1.12. MySQL version is 8.0.31.
The email has been reported as spam, with 3 websites attacked. However, it does not appear in the anti-spam list.
Do you know why the user mentioned in my last response wasn’t detected by a CleanTalk accurate scan? They have no posts, though the profile field has been modified to include images, and essentially a giant spam ad.
Is there a way to get the plugin to check the bio field of BuddyPress?
Or, better yet, why was the user allowed to register at all in the first place? If a user has the same email and username, it’s almost always a spam account, in my experience at least.Does this plugin not support BuddyPress? It’s a pretty popular plugin, after all.
What are your suggestions on how to combat this issue? Ideally these sorts of users won’t be able to register at all, let alone spam via their profiles. As for WP Foro, I’ll report the users as requested.
For public reference, the users were caught by another anti-spam / moderation that forces their posts into a moderation queue. Most if not all spam users are also posting onto their profile pages, just like with BuddyPress. Many of these are caught, but also a great many more are not.
An example of an account that was not caught by CleanTalk
https://efiction.org/community/profile/julieowen/It was able to detect over 9,000 spam users, and deleted them, too. Forums have/had 30,000 members. Scanning, obviously, takes quite a while.
Considering the time, is there a way to automate this? Like a cron that runs every day or week, and automatically deletes or suspends users that are detected as spam? Also, that particular account was created before CleanTalk was installed, and was not detected in a scan.Is automation even possible?

In reply to: [Advanced Editor Tools] Security VulnerabilityThanks guys. This was a false alarm, and I’m sure the hackers just targeted this plugin because of its popularity.
They got in through other means.
Anyway, sorry for the false report.

I love the excellent functionality and how ‘clean’ the plugin behaves. I love the seamless integration with external networks like Twitter, and I seriously love the rapid updates from Buddystream developers.
Seriously, excellent job! ??
Keep up the superb work, guys!
