Update on USPS shipping. We have the current USPS plugin ver. 2.1.6 and it seems to be working. We changed some settings and on the front end customers are offered first class shipping for packages under 13 oz and priority shipping for other packages. The charges returned in the shopping cart are correct when compared against the USPS directly. Seems to be working well!.

We installed and tried to use the USPS plugin on our site and it has been a disaster. It can not accurately calculate shipping, offers box sizes that products can not fit in, etc. We reported the issues and after 4 or 5 revisions the problems were not resolved. We were told there would be a fix soon but nothing has been issued and now Woo is silent on any progree. We are seriously considering dropping Woo after 8 months and many $ and going with a professional shopping cart for our needs. Woo has really dropped the ball on this. If you are selling virtual products it would be a great site but for physical products with shipping it doesn’t work so well. There is also no way to print shipping labels, nor edit a shipping invoice amoung many other problems.

We’ve been having trouble with the USPS plugin since it was offered. Even with multiple revisions it doesn’t work for us. We have variable products with different weights but the plug in can not calculate the proper postage. Even with a couple of ponds of products the need to be shipped first class parcel, small priority, medium priority and large priority shipping methods will be offered. Of course customers will choose the cheapest and we will be stuck with the balance. You can not choose a default shipping method w/in the USPS plugin. Woo said they are working on it but it’s been months.
