Wow. Never mind. It works (ugly! but it’s there!) I have some adblocker in Firefox which is blocking all the google ads – I went into IE and can see all but the post ad. If I cannot figure that out I’ll start another thread.

Thanks for your post Rok because it prompted me to dig further and find the issue.

It’s very possible my browser is blocking google ads. Would someone mind letting me know if they see anything ad-wise on this page? (above post)

I don’t believe the post ads are showing because I see the code in the post itself.

Well it’s a temporary blog link. I’m testing the layout and workings of everything before I go and purchase a domain and install the site.

You can see what I have right now:
    https://sunnypad.com/blog/

but I’m messing around with everything so at any time it could change the look, etc.

I did get that error message that everyone gets on install but I fixed that and now here I am, able to input my adsense data and all but not have it show up. I’ve tried different templates, etc.

I’m sorry to double post but I’m out of ideas for this plugin.

Has anyone had more success/easier time with other adsense plugins? I saw that this particular one was recommended, but I see a lot of people have had problems with it or have not been able to get it to work for them.

Is it possible for anyone to point me to an adsense plugin that works well for them? Thanks.

Thank you. I’ve been trying but there’s no means of support there that I can find. I thought someone at www.ads-software.com might have contact information. Thank you.

OK I’m not all that comfortable yet with php, but I guess I’d better find out. I didn’t know I was going to run into this much trouble or I might have just stuck with my Blogger account. :-\ Anyway I’m here, and I like WP so I need to figure this out.
I tried one of the other tips in one thread but it didn’t work. I have no idea how to go about 1 or 2 (which you’ve stated above). In 1. you said “change the variable names”. From what to what? And how does one find other relevant files? This suggestion was too favgue for me, as was #2.
So if I do the things stated, after blocking the spammer, will I finally be able to delete the spam that are in the current comments?

I’m here because I have this same problem. A spammer’s stuck two comments in all of my posts. I’m hoping I can find some decent method without resorting to registration, which I’m setting now so that I don’t have to do so much cleanup later.

The links section was already there. It’s the one where WordPress’s link is in. I removed the ones I didn’t want, left WordPress, and added more.
How can I get those link descriptions in a mouseover instead of being typed out beside the link?

Thanks for bringing up this subject and for the helpful replies. I’m learning a lot here…

Oh thanks for that post. I also noticed that it was the Upload button I was looking for – it was on the top; but I expected it above the writing area. Thanks.

Never mind; I figured it out.
background: #color needs to be replaced with background: url(wp-images/sky.jpg)
I didn’t know there was a conflict between background and background-image, and that background-image is not used.
Could someone please explain why we can’t use background-image and background? Maybe it’s not necessary to have both. It’s just that normal css allows us to use both.

    Thank you

Anonymous – did you figure this out? If so please post how you did it. I’m still having trouble with this.

You know what? Your question made me poke around. My import-blogger IS installed under the wp-admin directory. I just have everything installed off the main domain (remove “wordpress” from your url above). I got the right page to import it when I did that. So I think what I’ll do is remove my installation, put it into a wordpress directory (which is what I’ve been wanting to do anyway) and go from there. I think I’ve got it now. Thanks!

I get a “page not found” error. The fantatico installer didn’t install the import-blogger.php file. I looked for it there. Do I have to put it up on my host then go to that page in my browser?
