Thank you for reaching out about this. I’m Garret from the customer success team and I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a problem here. I’ll be happy to help!
This issue occurs when a business directory page is in the trash. You will need to restore or delete this permanently from the trash to fix the issue.
Go to Pages > Trash and locate the business directory page and restore or delete that page. That should fix this for you.
Unfortunately, this is a bug our developers are aware of. We are working on a fix, so this should be resolved soon.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know!

Have you made any custom changes to the template files?
Since I haven’t been able to reproduce this on my test site, will you check if you have the same issue under these conditions?
- all other plugins deactivated
- any custom code removed
- WP 2020 theme active
- running the current version of the Business Directory Plugin
- running the current version of WordPress
- all site, server, and browser caches cleared
You can find more detail on how to find a conflict in the docs.
If you do have the same issue under those conditions, please let me know.

The 503 error is a general server-side error, and it may have more to do with your hosting than anything else, but it could be a conflict as well. First things first–have you checked the log files for your hosting configuration? A 503 error usually leaves a trace or dump of some kind. If you’re not sure where you find that, contact your web hosting provider as they will definitely know. That error message will likely tell you something you don’t know now.
You also need to eliminate other items as the cause so you know where it’s coming from. I’d suggest a full conflict test as well (but after the error log check)
Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/
Before doing a conflict test, it is a best practice to take a backup of your site before beginning or to do the test on a staging site, in case any settings are changed during the process.
Finally, depending on how technical and DIY you are, you can set up WP error logs to see if you can find the problem on your own. Here’s a guide for doing that: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-set-up-wordpress-error-logs-in-wp-config/
The error logs are the best place to start–see if you can find something there.
Please try that and let me how it goes.

Unfortunately, this isn’t something you can do. The ads will need to be paid for before the ad is listed.

I’m not sure which stylesheet you may be missing, so it would be best to delete and reinstall the plugin.
Please try that and let me know if you have any issues!

Unfortunately, help with writing, customizing, and debugging custom code isn’t covered by our support. We don’t have a quick answer for this, and it would take quite a bit of development time to research and test it.
We have had to make the hard decision that our limited development time is best spent on the things that will help the most people. As a result, we recommend more complex questions that are not documented go to other resources that may be helpful. There are a few great resources to help you out here.
1) Codeable has WordPress expert developers available for short-term projects
2) Tilden Tasks does longer WordPress tasks, but they break it down to 1 task per day.
3) Upwork (formerly known as oDesk) to help out if you think this is beyond your current skill set. There’s a lot of decent folks on there as well.I hope you understand our policy on this, that custom code questions are not something we can feasibly support.

Hi @frucomerci
Thank you for reaching out about this. I’m Garret from the customer success team and I’ll be happy to help with this.
Right now, Business Directory plugin doesn’t have a specific integration module with BuddyPress, so we don’t have the listing activity showing up in the user’s stream or a specific BuddyPress profile tab to manage the listings.
That’s on our roadmap, but we don’t support it today. Our sister plugin AWPCP (https://awpcp.com) DOES have BuddyPress support and can be used with BuddyPress, no problem.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!

That’s something we can consider adding in the future, but it’s not available today.
I think this is a great suggestion and could benefit many others. I’ve made a note of your request and we’ll keep it on our radar as we plan out our roadmap for the future.

Hi @spowell16
We have released 5.15.2 which fixes this issue. Please update to the latest release, and let me know if you still have issues.

Hey @ynick
I haven’t experienced this issue on our testing sites.
Can you please check if you have the Default listing status set to Published? You can find this by going to Directory > Settings > Listings.
Yours is likely set to Pending and not Published.
Please try that and let me know if that helps!
Best,
Hey @spowell16
