Did you recently update to WordPress 4.2? Event Espresso Decaf Version 4.4.10.04.decaf is available and should fix compatibility with wordpress 4.2 and the event editor content area.

1) With the rash of security releases in WordPress recently, it was causing problems with event names. We’ve pushed a release to EE4 Decaf, which should fix the problem. 4.4.10.04.decaf is available.

2) Do you have a long (100+ characters) in your event name?

3) Do you have any unique characters like the registered symbol in your event names?

We’ve started on an add-on for the iDeal/Mollie payment gateway for Event Espresso 4.6+ and WordPress.

Good questions. You can use this php snippet (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/useful-php-code-snippets/#add-to-blog) with Event Espresso 4 (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/event-espresso-decaf/) to display your event posts along side your blog posts (in the post archives and post rss feed). That way your news posts and event posts are publicized in the same ways.

There is an upgrade for the Events Calendar with Event Espresso 4, but you may not need a calendar of events. https://eventespresso.com/product/ee4-events-calendar/

Event Espresso 3 Lite does not integrate with iDeal, nor will Event Espresso 4 Decaf.

Your recommendation only hurts those in the Netherlands because they can use EE4 to accept payments without iDeal (as Lorenzo mentioned above).
