In reply to: [Event Espresso Lite - Event Management and Registration System] FrustratingHi Lynsuzy,
Let me clarify one thing then will you clarify too, please?
As long as you register on EventEspresso.com (which is where we are most active) you can post to the Event Espresso Lite forums (https://eventespresso.com/forum/event-espresso-public/) and see all the replies in that forum. There is no fee and we’ll help you the best we can. So please don’t misunderstand how we support our product, which we also make clear in the FAQ section about Event Espresso Lite.
Are you referring to the payment status or the email confirmation? What did you try and what did not work? Event Espresso will record the registration (regardless of payment) so you can collect customer information and reach out to them and see if they need help registering. When the transaction is pending or complete it counts agains the registration limit. We believe that’s a smarter and more professional way to build a relationship with customers rather than only caring about them after they’ve completed a perfect registration. You’ll find that with any registration system they will have problems registering (bad credit card number, a typo in their email address, typo in their mailing address, bad internet connection, etc.), but you won’t know that if you only receive data from people who don’t experience any issues. That’s our professional opinion based on experience years of customer feedback from people who are trying to make their events successful and make their attendees happy.
Also, some event managers want people to send that confirmation before payment is received. That is a setting in Event Espresso General Settings > Email Settings: https://www.screencast.com/t/mycmrBTp The default setting is to NOT send confirmation emails until payment is received.
I hope that clarify things and I look forward to your reply.
As Chris mentioned above, with Event Espresso YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO REQUIRE PAYMENT OR NOT. You do not have to require payment to register a.k.a free ($0) events or you can require payment with fee/paid ($xx) events. It’s simple.
HI Gabriel,
How are you today?
Just wanted to extend my contact information to you if you have questions about Event Espresso.
Event Espresso is changing a lot right now and we’re nearly done with the first phase to rebuild it. We can probably get you access to our Event Espresso 3 GitHub repo so if there are specific hooks you need then you can submit a pull request to get it included quicker.
We could also give you access to the Event Espresso 4 repository so you can see what’s changing and decide if you want to only do the integration with the new platform.
If you want more information feel free to contact me at garth @ eventespresso dot com.

In reply to: [Event Espresso Lite - Event Management and Registration System] Too limitedHi clueboy,
Thanks for your feedback. What were you trying to configure but unable to without the full version?
Those who purchase the full version support development for advanced features and more stable code, so we’re trying to balance our duty to paying customers and our team.
Any advice, where would you draw the line between free and the paid full version?
Hi Carlos,
We have thousands of people using Event Espresso in “prime time” so it’s working for many. many people. We have constant updates because we’re always improving the plugin…would you prefer few updates? Our plugin is ready for WordPress version 3.5 (before version 3.5 it’s released).
Our support license specifies that we can only support one domain, but Event Espresso is GPL so you can use it on as many sites as you want but without important support, updates, etc. We can’t support unlimited sites for one small price-we don’t support child labor. The fees are very minimal for the savings in ticketing fees and time savings.
The $10 license re-assignment is only for people who want to move their support to a new website to receive support and automatic upgrades.
Event Espresso is probably the most well supported events plugin available, and we have more features which will make you more successful.
I don’t know what your problems really are (because you didn’t mention them), but you might be more successful if you ask our support team for help instead of just complaining.
Hi evilforces (ferocious profile picture ya got there).
The invoice feature is only available in the premium version of Event Espresso. Send us an email and we’ll help you out: https://eventespresso.com/contact/
Be sure to reference this post in your email.
Thanks!
Event Espresso is also refactoring the code and website very heavily. New code coming in the next couple months, new website within 30 days.
