Thanks for a very quick response. I have permalinks set to default because I cannot get pretty permalinks to work on my site. Even though WP will accept the change and create an .htaccess file on the server, the rewrite engine does not seem to be working on the server side (navigation completely dies when I enable pretty permalinks).
I also have a member access plugin working on this site. I am going to be using it for a college course I’m teaching, where I need to keep track of student access, so it restricts viewing of pages and posts. I inadvertently failed to enable the feature of the plugin that allows RSS feeds to produce summaries for those who are not logged in. That was pretty dumb, I guess, but I corrected it when I saw your posting. The strange thing is that clicking the comments feed link on the front page will now produce the proper xml for unauthenticated users with the comments, but the hungryfeed plugin is still producing the “file not found” message. Could this be stuck in the cache? Can I flush that?
Thanks.
