Never Mind, I found the problem. the merge tag for the username is not just “username”. It is “user_nicename” This will merge the username into your mailchimp list.

Here is an update to my original post. This is what I hove found so fer.

1. It looks like there are 2 different conflicts. First when I deactivate bbpress, the redirect stops going to the homepage automatically. This is not a problem because I really do not need bbpress. However, now whenever a “subscriber” logs in, they are redirected to the “wooCommerce My Account page” automatically. When I deactivate the wooCommerce plugin, and try to login, I am taken to the User Profile page that says “Sorry, but you do not have the correct permissions to activate the WooCommerce and bbPress plugins. I’m at a loss.
