Oh, facepalm by me. Your installation page says “Configure the plugin by going to the ‘Updates Options’ section in your admin area under the Dashboard”, and my brain took “under the Dashboard” to mean below that item, not in the sub-menu. I see it now, thanks.

The only mystery is why I saw the settings in one of my installations, and why that wrong URL came up. Must have been another plugin with similarly named menu options.

“Guideline violation” is not the right term. It’s that the author is not contactable.

The problem persisted even with Compatibility mode. The Iconic developers are having a look. If they fail, I will open a dedicated support request.

What I think was happening was that since I was using curl -I, which only does a HEAD request, WP Super Cache wasn’t creating the cache entry, nor serving it. Visiting the page with a browser would create the entry.

I’m guessing something was expiring, so the 2nd header is what’s served when there’s no entry.

I second this. The www.ads-software.com Installation and FAQ pages make no mention of the shortcode that I can find. At the least, the section “How to use CAPTCHA” from the contactform7 site should be here on www.ads-software.com.

Lots of details about how it works and how to use it in your own plugin on the front page, but nothing about inserting a shortcode on your Contact Form 7 form.

Confirmed. Full-screen it’s fine. Though, it’s something a little more complicated than just obscuring the top line of code since, if I hold down the Enter key, I don’t eventually see my cursor.

Same here. Up-to-date Firefox, WP and plugin. Only this plugin activated. Blank box (or sometimes collapsed box) in editor, with no way to type in it.

Same here. This is somewhat important because it fills up the logs of various plugins (iThemes security, redirection, et al).

A Google search reveals that others have this problem too.

Supposedly the culprit is this Fancybox code:

There are many such lines and I’m hesitant to patch/delete all of them without understanding all the implications, and would also prefer the developer take care of this…
