  • There is an extensive FAQ I just found.

Unfortunately, the little bit on fragmented caching doesn’t render. If you look at the source code, you’ll see why – HTML comments ??

    Here’s what it should say:

How do I implement fragment caching?
Edit your templates to with the following syntax to ensure that dynamic features remain so:

    Example 1:<!– mfunc any PHP code –><!– /mfunc –>
    Example 2:<!– mfunc –>any PHP code<!– /mfunc –>
    Example 3:<!–MFUNC –> echo rand();<!–/mfunc –>
    Example 4:<!– mclude path/to/file.php –><!– /mclude –>
    Example 5:<!– mclude –>path/to/file.php<!– /mclude –>

Not sure that really clears anything up ?? Inconsistent capitalization and spacing is a worry. The call to rand() is an interesting idea – it is a way of uniquely identifying a page render so that you can tell if you’re seeing a cached copy or not.

Big security concern! Honestly, caching on any site with a member’s area seems dangerous. The number of complaints/problems/bugs people post regarding this seems like, even with the “Don’t cache pages for logged-in users” feature, you risk serving secure pages to the wrong people.

And, unfortunately, the developers seem swamped with support requests and aren’t able to address this issue.
Pages are still being cached for logged in users
Total cache will not let homepage update for logged out users
    Logged-in users can’t tell they’re logged in

The best response I can find from Frederick is this one where he says fragment caching is the way to go. It seems easy enough, but I’d only feel confident if I could find good documentation on how this works and why it should be save.

    Same here. Please fix.

Same here. Is this plugin abandoned? I like this one – simple and doesn’t clutter up the admin interface!

What does it mean if the lockout_host column of the wp_itsec_lockouts table has empty entries? I got locked out without any missed password attempts, and am suspecting these blank lockout_host entries are causing the site to lock out everyone.

See my answer at this thread

You’ll still have FTP access, so connect to your site and move, rename or delete the better-wp-security folder from wp-content/plugins.

    Then try again to login.

    Hi Robert,

I get THREE log files from one cron run… very weird. This is probably what’s happening – some bug is launching three backups from one job, and they’re colliding.

I’ve forwarded the logs to you via email instead of pasting all three long logs here. I hope that’s OK.

Confirmed. Also, the beta warns about a gigantic (2GB) file, which was actually the cause of the backup not failing.

The beta, however, doesn’t upload to Dropbox, issuing this error:

ERROR: Dropbox API: (401) Access token not found.

Release version of BackUPwp works OK with DropBox.

Whoops… yep, the “On Sale” widget is gone. Use the “WooCommerce Products” widget, which has a “On Sale Products” in a pulldown.

Same here. WP 3.8.1, Woo 2.1.6. “On Sale” widget disappeared after upgrade.

I have a site that, once an Admin is logged in, clicking the “Visit Site” menu item takes me to the home page of the site and makes it look like I’m not logged in. I assume this is because W3TC is serving the old, un-logged in page.

So “yes” to your question, in my experience.

This isn’t the desired behavior, of course. No idea how to work around this, so I disabled W3 Cache for now ??

I had updated my answer a couple of times at the beginning with changed code. Maybe you were too fast and copied my initial (wrong) code?

Arg!!! That was it! I hope that wasn’t my fault since I don’t want to be wasting your time.

The functions as you have them up there now DO WORK. Many thanks for the patch. Long live open source!

    Ah, OK. My fault.

Let me correct my statements – I don’t see the plugin (with your new code) adding an i element, and it appears to remove only the second class from the li element.

If I turn off the plugin, both classes stay in the li element.

    Here, have a look:
    https://new.understandingfaith.edu.au/

I can only leave it open and with that theme for 24 hours (I hope that’s OK).

Again, I have “icon-camera icon-large” in the menu’s CSS Classes box.
