Since you’ve changed things in your account, it would be too late to determine what the problem was, but next I would check what I would check for next time are the rewrite rules/redirection (in the .htaccess or in the php.ini).
We do remove the install.php on completion of installation in Hosting Connection. This is what is recommended by WordPess.

If you’re still having trouble, we offer a really simple install of WordPress through Go Daddy Hosting Connection.
Also, WordPress works great on our Windows servers with IIS7.

In reply to: WordPress and go-DaddyFYI, We’ve tested using permalinks on a Go Daddy Windows shared hosting account, and it does work. The PATHINFO suggestion from the WordPress help article does the trick – put /index.php/ in front of the permalink string.
@flipsideinc, You can import a database into a Go Daddy hosting account. You’ll want to get a .sql file, not a .bak. Just create the database from the Hosting Control Center, then follow these instructions for importing the data:

In reply to: Hosting by Go Daddy on a MacMichael’s right, the computer that you’re using at home doesn’t matter. Macs and PCs can all access Go Daddy services.
Also, WordPress works great with either Linux or Windows, but you need to make sure that you’re using IIS7 if you have a Windows account. The IIS setting is something you configure the very first time you setup the hosting account.
