Just to add support to this request – it is a huge hurdle. Gutenberg and Elementor allow for MUCH more efficient content creation and layouting. It would be great if support could be added soon. Thank you for all the work!

For me, it seems to finish the full backup but in the end, only the database file is included (according to the plugin itself, the backup should be about 350 MB, but turns out then to just be several hundred kb).

Enabled the support and sent a message, not sure if it worked?

Just tested version 1.3.2.1, and there it works as expected, hidden groups are visible to members and admins.

I investigated my previous steps and redid it all. The results below. For now for the lazy, the process works and works well – I am really grateful for the plugin! Doing everything like in the readme works great!

However, I did not stop there ??

Deactivating the old U BuddyPress Forum Attachment plugin indeed as you suggested works.

However, deinstalling the old U BuddyPress Forum Attachment plugin leads to file not found errors. Maybe the readme could advise against this as for a non-programmer like me, removing and deactivating a plugin were nearly identical ??

Reinstalling the old U BuddyPress Forum Attachment plugin afterwards makes it even worse. After clicking on Download the page reloads without an error but no file is served :/

Just for completion – deactivating your migration plugin is also not a good idea, since then the attachments vanish again ?? Maybe it could be mentioned in the readme that this needs to be permanently active?

Just one thing to note, as I found out afterwards, you need to keep U Forum Attachments plugin installed and active for the “Legacy Attachments” to continue working – otherwise you will receive a “file not found” error.

Might be worth mentioning in the readme ??

Okay, now I have prove by another user who can’t access a file attached to one project because his role is ‘No Role’. That user just gets a “Page not found” error.

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

Oh, just checked again and assigning moderator role in buddypress does NOT change the GTM role from “No role” to anything else. Had been so sure it had done that before… so right now, I can’t really use the roles since I can’t change them and the default setting is being ignored.

Thanks agelonwl, that indeed was the “cause” of my issue – now I feel a bit stupid. Is there a way to change that rule so that all group members can assign an event to their group?

Or do I have to make all members group admin for this to work?

I was looking at the “User Capabilities” but did not find anything there regarding groups there, sadly.

But now that I know it is not a bug but more a usability thingy, I feel much better already ?? Thanks a lot so far – especially for testing!
