Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Problem to upgrade to 2.5Don’t ask my why but it’s working now. I was reading some other post on the topic and somebody proposed to just go back to your back-up and do it again. Did it…and now everything works like a charm. Updating WP is always a pleasure!

How about this one. Seems to be exactly what you’re looking for and it works great for me doing more or less the same thing.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: WP-SpamFree is AWESOME!!I installed the plugin on my site a week ago and the spam comments are gone. I use it in combination with Akismet and there’s no more need to even moderate comments. Although I don’t know if it’s taking out any real comments – but I can’t give any statistics on this since there are almost no commenter on my site.
Anyway, I love this plugin – great job!

In reply to: Firefox Extension Release: WordPress HelperI really don’t want to bother you but I can’t get it to work. So I see that with domain.com and the blog in the subfolder /wordpress I have to chose the “1 level – domain.com/blog/wp-admin” and put just domain.com in the profile link – right?
But somehow the add-on doesn’t add the subfolder to the directory when I want to access the dashbord through the plugin. It works if I put domain.com/wordpress in the profile link but then I can’t access the website through the plugin.
Many thanks for your patience and help.

In reply to: Firefox Extension Release: WordPress HelperThat’s what I did, still not working. But here’s my problem – my subfolder isn’t actually named blog. Could this be a problem?

In reply to: Firefox Extension Release: WordPress HelperThis is a great tool – love it. I have only one problem with the depth of the Backend.
Which option do I have to chose if my WordPress installation is in a folder on my server which points to myaddress.com and there the actual blog is in a subfolder /blog?
I tried all the existing options but none worked.
Thx.

In reply to: WP Publications ArchiveI couldn’t resist to try it out – even it’s close to midnight here. You pointed me to the right place. It actually doesn’t matter whether you use $this->url or get_bloginfo(‘url’) both work. Just need to put /wordpress/… before the /wp-content/..
You rock! Thx a bunch!

In reply to: WP Publications ArchiveI’ll sure try this and let you know how it worked.
I think it would be great if someone is taking over – such a great plugin. Would be a shame to lose it.
I did put the link to the plugin “home” in my first post. You should go and check it out – maybe contact the guy and tell him you’re interested in taking over.
For you’re question about the openfile.php – I just uploaded the plugin files to my directory and that’s about it. Although I’m in informatics, I don’t’ count programming to my strengths – I’m a network security and DB guy ?? So, sorry but I can’t really help you. Experimenting with my blog myself a lot.
And remember there’s no shame for taking over somethings work in this case – losing the plugin would be worst!
Thx,

In reply to: WP Publications Archivemfields,
thx for your reply.I know it’s working almost fine but as the developer told he stopped to support, I’m a bit worried for future WP version.
But I do actually have a little problem – could you maybe help?
What I found out is that when I download the file from inside the Dashboard, it redirects
to the following link:
https://mysitename/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-publications-archive/openfile.php?action=open&file=2and the download works.
But when I try to set up a page, it uses the following link:
https://mysitename/wp-content/plugins/wp-publications-archive/openfile.php?action=open&file=2and the download is not working.
I’ll guess that this is my only problem with the plugin.

In reply to: WP Publications ArchiveThis great plugin is no longer supported by the original developer. Is anyone here interested in taking over?
