In reply to: [Ad Inserter - Ad Manager & AdSense Ads] Responsive ads overlap contentAh okay, that makes sense. It seems like this is something Google should fix though. No sense in choosing a responsive ad, if I’m just going to limit the width of it anyways.

In reply to: [Ad Inserter - Ad Manager & AdSense Ads] Responsive ads overlap contentIsn’t changing the CSS of ads against Google TOS though?

In reply to: [Ad Inserter - Ad Manager & AdSense Ads] Responsive ads overlap contentThank you! I wasn’t sure if the issue was with Ad Inserter or AdSense. I posted this problem on Google’s forums, but they’re ignoring me. Hopefully I can get it resolved through CSS. I switched to a non-responsive ad unit in the meantime. Should I add the CSS to the rating element? I appreciate you going out of your way to help me with this.

In reply to: [Ad Inserter - Ad Manager & AdSense Ads] Center alignment does not saveHi,
It looks like the problem has resolved itself. Perhaps it was a caching issue with my host showing the uncentered ad.
Hi Jeremy,
The problem seems to have been resolved. I think it was related to my use of Ezoic for ad placement testing (they used AWS nameservers). Once I changed my nameservers back to Godaddy, I didn’t get locked out again.
Hi Jeremey,
I am already running at the latest version of Jetpack. I am using WPEngine for hosting, although I don’t know if they use Varnish for caching. They do use their own caching system, however. I also use their CDN.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Column filteringTobias,
No worries. Thanks for the tip to hide columns. It worked great!
Regards,
GeoffThanks for the quick response.
Yes, it is a new problem. I isolated it by restoring a backup of my site before the plugin update, then updating Ultimate Social Media and Share Icons. The previous version is not affected.
I just tried the other plugin and it causes the same issue.

In reply to: [Plugin Organizer] Plugin display order no longer workingAh. That explains it then.

In reply to: [Plugin Organizer] Plugin display order no longer workingThanks for the reply. This array wouldn’t be the “active_plugins” option in my database, would it? I just checked that and the plugins are indeed sorted in the load order specified by Plugin Organizer. Very odd that this doesn’t affect the display of these plugins.

In reply to: [Contextual Related Posts] The best related posts pluginThanks for the help. Yes, it is WP Engine. I relayed your post to them, and posted their response below.
“Unfortunately, none of the current hardware we use currently runs MySQL 5.6, and this cannot be changed on a per-account basis. Related posts plugins can be great for traffic flow, but the often wreak havoc on database processes. The Jetpack version is the only one we currently recommend.”
I am not surprised they didn’t make an exception, given that this plugin is on their disallowed list https://wpengine.com/support/disallowed-plugins/
I’m going to work around the limitations of Jetpack, since the benefits of WPE vastly outweigh me switching to a private server.

In reply to: [Contextual Related Posts] The best related posts pluginUnfortunately, less than an hour after writing this I got an email from my web host (WP Engine) that this plugin is on their disallowed list, due to the resources used by related post plugins. They only allow related post plugins that offload functionality to third-party servers, like Jetpack.
I am now left with the difficult task of either customizing Jetpack Related Posts to look like CRP (even though I hire a web designer, I’m not sure he could do this), or switching hosts. Bummer ??
