In reply to: Permalink viewing problemI tried both. After further testing, I found the issue to do with the .htacess file. I installed Urban Giraffe’s “redirection” plugin and made a few adjustments after allowing for the logs to generate. All seems fine now.

In reply to: Where shall I start????I was having several of the same issues and found that Urban Giraffe’s HeadSpace2 was the culprit. I am hoping they get a new version that is compatible with 3.0 rolled out soon!

In reply to: Permalinks Setting not showing in WP3I’m assuming you are accessing it through /wp-admin ?
I had the same problem for several days. Oddly, it was a new plugin that triggered it and I had a new page keep looping from my front page. It was annoying as for I knew it was something small and silly…just like this.
Thank you esolano!!!

In reply to: Permalink viewing problemSounds like the reverse of what I am currently dealing with.
After upgrading to 3.0, I added a page named “Contact.” I now no longer have access to my front page, yet I can access all others by using page/# or using a permalink for each post.
If this is offtopic, I apologize as for I just came across this post and gathered it was similar.
https://www.geoffsnyder.com (which now redirects to the new page “contact” for some reason)
Thanks,

The blog has been online since last October. Since installing the plugin, I am no longer able to get to the front page…which is the root of the domain. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, activated, and deactivated (and several other sequences thereof).
I’ve been reading extensively for the past 40 hours about the front page, htaccess, the loop, and permalinks. Nothing seem to line up to this problem specifically, but then again, I am not fluent in PHP and am unfamiliar with what I am looking at/for but I am technologically savvy.
Again, I cannot access the front page, which has always been: https://www.geoffsnyder.com It keeps redirecting me to https://www.geoffsnyder.com/contact/ and if I remove that page, it still takes me there but of course then giving me a 404
I can access all posts specifically…and even pages such as /page/2 /page/3 etc…
I have double and triple checked this…the short code is in fact located within the Page and not a Post.
Hey Mike,
Maybe there is a misunderstandng…
In the default set up, this plugin has an option to redirect…the one in which is: index.php
I activated the plugin and set up the form, tested it…and everything worked fine. I then enabled the redirect option within the plugin settings, tested it and found that after the form was submitted, it simply redirected back to the same page…the contact page. Next, I read through this forum for input and possible correction, hence the reference to the “…this forum and read where you mentioned to but the full URL in it’s place. So I did by entering: https://www.geoffsnyder.com — ” from above. After in which I noticed it did the same thing, which is why I deactived and uninstalled the plugin. I’ve reinstalled it and tried again…same thing.
I double checked the Front Page displays settings and that is set to: “Your latest posts”. I have also disabled each plugin…this did not correct the problem. I have read through the permalink forum and will try to find something there…if it exists.
I guess my thought that the problem has to do with this plugin only because there wasn’t an issue until after I installed and set it up.
Thank you again for your time and for any further insight.
Best regards,
Geoff
