In reply to: [evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or functionI found an additional plug-in requiring the Google Maps API code: WP Google Map.
Sorry about multiple postings, but I want this to help someone with similar problems.

In reply to: [evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or functionUpdate: I found another plug-in requiring the Google Maps API code: Google Maps Easy. I’ll let you know if I continue to get errors after I’ve updated that plug-in.

In reply to: [evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or functionI’ve been waiting to see if these errors occurred again after I posted the “solution.” I received 2 shortly after posting above, and then I’ve received at least one per day thereafter.
I don’t know if you are familiar with the “Broken Link Manager” plugin, but it always sends the IP address of the PC creating the error. Out of the numerous “broken links” that I’ve received, these “maps/api/js/AuthenticationService.Authenticate?” errors are the only ones that did not have an IP address attributed to it. Does that tell us anything?

In reply to: [evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or functionI believe I might have found the cause of the original problem. When studying the links, I noticed everyone had “/maps/api/js/AuthenticationService.Authenticate?“. I recalled that Yoast Local SEO plugin announced that Google Maps began requiring Google Maps Javascript API and API key for geocoding. Not many days ago, I tried to create these API keys and inserted them into Local SEO- Yoast SEO plugin. I believe I messed it up the first time, because the API keys were different from each other. Yesterday, I went back to Google and created new API keys and inserted these identical API keys in the plugin under API key for Google Maps and API key for geocoding. Since that time, these errors have stopped.

In reply to: [evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or functionWhen I checked each Broken URL log, for the first time ever, there was no associated IP address for the PC creating the “broken link” report.
HOWEVER, within about 3 minutes of you sending your previous response above, I received 37 new Broken URLs with the same IP address. Would anything you have done to look into the problem create errors? Does your IP address begin with 104.37.***.***? These new links all had “.php” extensions like https://lifeskillssa.com/security.php and https://lifeskillssa.com/xmlrppc.php and https://lifeskillssa.com/wp-includes/ms-files-qu.php
I appreciate you taking the time looking into this.

In reply to: [evolve] 404 errors relating to Authentication or functionI am receiving email notices from “Broken Link Manager”, a plug-in that I installed.
I’m continuing to get “pattern_8.png” 404 broken links, such as https://lifeskillssa.com/about-us/what-is-life-skills/anger/pattern_8.png, although not as frequent as before. Anyone found a solution?

In reply to: [evolve] Ugh! You destroyed my theme! How do I go back? Thanks for the response. If I deleted the theme and installed an earlier revision, would my bootstrap slider still have the titles and subtitles that I added at the first installation? (I haven’t changed those over time.) Same question for the parallax slider?
I just gave that a try, although my website only has a handful of posts (in the sense I understand the term, equivalent to a blog.) Most of my other pages are traditional webpages with links to internal and external webpages. (I know that WP started off as a Blog program, which I’ve never used, so I sometimes get confused with the use of “posts”.) Anyway, I changed my Permalinks from “Post name” (https://lifeskillssa.com/sample-post/) to “Custom” (/%postname%/), which of course reverts back to the same “Post name” format. (I don’t like using those “Date and Name”, “Month and Name” or “Numeric” as these created a lot of 404 Broken links.
Sorry to be so long, but I saved the changes and will wait to see if the errors stop. I’ll get back to you.

In reply to: [evolve] Ugh! You destroyed my theme! How do I go back?If I downgraded to an earlier version, would I lose all of the editing I did (images I added to the slider, linked pages, etc.?) When I looked at the Evolve 3.60, it looks NOTHING like my Evolve theme: see https://www.lifeskillssa.com

In reply to: [evolve] Evolve changes creating 404 errors from footerI thought of a possible reason for a 403 error. I receive email notices of 404 errors. Sometimes, these errors come a dozen or more at a time, making me suspect someone trying to hack my site. Therefore, I use WP Security Blacklist to block ranges of IP addresses. I could have inadvertently blocked Romik84 with this broad approach. If you still want to inspect the source code, please give me the first 3 numbers of your IP address.

In reply to: [evolve] How to Change the Color of Navigation Bar / MenuBarI recently lost my Menu colors in Evolve (after an update on 29 April 2016.) I need help in changing the page menu colors: the fonts are very light brown or gray on a light background. When I put my mouse over a page, the font turns white and is almost invisible. I’m trying to get a fix through the theme author, but discovered Denzel’s instructions on Theme Options -> Custom CSS. Will this mess up my Evolve theme? I have a child theme. Would I edit the Child theme?

In reply to: [evolve] Evolve changes creating 404 errors from footerClarification: I didn’t lose any footers. I did go in and change the Header and Footer pattern, which stopped most 404 errors. The only 404 errors I’m getting now are the apple-touch-icon*.png ones.
I do need help in changing the page menu colors: the fonts are very light brown or gray on a light background. When I put my mouse over a page, the font turns white and is almost invisible.
Thank you!

In reply to: [evolve] Evolve changes creating 404 errors from footerOne possibility why you got 403 error: I had my WordPress editor open?

In reply to: [evolve] Evolve changes creating 404 errors from footerI should have mentioned: I haven’t had any of the pattern_8.png errors after changing the footer pattern, as Romik84 suggested.
