The embed function is not currently supported for featured image. If you license an image through Getty Images, you should be able to see it in your media library and set it as the featured image.

Update: if you update the Getty Images plugin, you can now change modes to Embed Mode and access over 50 million embeddable images, which are free for bloggers to use in non-commercial instances. You can learn more on https://www.gettyimages.com/Creative/Frontdoor/embed.

We are updating the plugin in the coming weeks to enable searching for embeddable images, as well as maintaining features to support download from our subscription customers.

We do take efforts to make the embed responsive and strive to improve the experience if we see it not working as expected on certain devices.
