@bengreeley – Great question! I can understand how this could be useful. This isn’t something we currently have planned but we’ll look into it more internally and see if there’s a solution. Out of curiosity, how do you handle it on the GettyImages.com website or do the editors for this site not download imagery from the website at all?

Sorry for the delay – we have not had the chance to dig into this much further.

If you’re willing to do a bit of troubleshooting, can you try the following:
1) Choose an image from GettyImages.com (rather than than the plugin) and click the </> symbol to get the Embed code.
2) Using the text editor, paste in the Embed code
3) Add <figure class=”op-interactive”> before the Embed code
4) Add </figure> after the Embed code

Publish and test.

This will hopefully be a workaround for you as we look into whether this is something we can change int he plugin.

The dev team has taken a look at the issue you reported but aren’t able to reproduce it. Any chance you can pass along the console log like you did last time you were seeing the issue?

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the plugin. The login screen for registered users opens a new window for authentication. I’m wondering if that window could be blocked by a popup or ad blocker which is causing the log in issues for you? We’re happy to troubleshoot further if you can describe the login issue you’re having in Safari.

@austinforever – The Embed feature allows people to use the imagery on their blog for free but the placement is done using an iframe for a number of different reasons. At this point in time WordPress Featured Image functionality doesn’t support iframes. This is why we are unable to get the Embedded images to work as Featured Images. I realize it’s frustrating to be limited in your usage and we’ll do what we can in the future to allow additional usage types with the free Embed option.

Out of curiosity, if you generate the embed code from the gettyimages.com website do you experience the same issue. Here’s an example:

@jkuzma and @dakishimesan – Sorry you were having trouble with the plugin. We had an issue that was impacting the thumbnail images. the issue was resolved late yesterday. Please try clearing cache and logging out of the plugin. The issue should resolved when you log back in. Please drop us a note here if you’re still having trouble.

@siverfox – It sounds like that might be something that would be added to the ACF plugin. I’m not familiar with that particular plugin but if an image is downloaded from the Getty Images plugin it is placed in the Media Library and would then be available to any other plugins. That may be the work-around for you in this case. Hope that helps!
