Crud, I’m sorry the reinstall didn’t work. Thanks for the update, DFC005. Can we coordinate a time next week when we can share screens? You can email me at cara dot postilion at gettyimages dot com.

I see. There’s nothing you should have to configure to make the image appear on the front-end. Can you provide more information about your setup so I can take that back to our engineering team for troubleshooting?

    • WP version
    • Plugin version
    • Theme name
    • Browser name and version
    • OS name and version

Thanks for the additional info. Hopefully we can nail things down from here.

    Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for raising this question. We have implemented it this way because of limitations in the WordPress environment, so unfortunately we can’t provide the embed code as raw <div> code.

You should still the image in Visual mode. The URL displays this only in Text mode, so let us know if you’re having problems seeing the image render in Visual mode.

Thanks for your feedback, and thanks for using the plugin!

    Hi DFC005,

Thanks for reporting this. I’m sorry to see this is happening (and with such frequency). I just ran through a bunch of image downloads on our side and didn’t run into this on our WordPress environment.

I’m assuming that you’re using the latest version of our plugin (2.4.3), which you can check in your Dashboard? If not, I’d try a fresh install (remove the old one, install the new one). I’ve seen some oddities with downloads (though admittedly not this particular issue), and a fresh install seemed to do the trick.

Thanks for your feedback, and let us know how it goes.

Hi DFC005, so glad it’s been a timesaver. We love hearing that!

Thanks for the feedback about mobile. It’s certainly on our minds, so it’s good to hear you add your voice to the choir and that it would make a difference for you. We have a number of things ahead of this, but we definitely want to make our content available on mobile and via responsive sites. Thanks for reporting this and hanging in there while we work this into the queue.

Thanks for the quick response akaback! I’ll report this to our engineering team, and hopefully they can re-create the environment so we can tackle this issue once and for all. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for checking the plugin version, akaback, and confirming that this is an issue for you on the latest version. Can you provide more details about your environment?

    WP version
Theme name (for example, is this a custom theme?)
    Browser name and version
    OS name and version

That might help us re-create the environment to help troubleshoot this issue. Thanks!

Thanks for calling out this scenario, Biranit. You’re correct that we don’t support this today, but we can consider this for a future update. Thanks for your feedback!

Apologies for the delay getting back to you. We haven’t been able to repro the issue, so we wondered if you were still having this problem. I wonder if it’s an older version of the plugin and it just needs an update? You may need to click Update from your Installed Plugins view in the Dashboard. Let us know if that does the trick.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you on this one, wordsinthebucket, and thanks for the update. Can you share more information about your environment, namely:

    • Theme name (and whether this is a custom theme)
    • WP version
    • Plugin version
    • Browser name and version
    • OS name and version

    Hi ldesherl,

You can freely use our embeddable imagery as long as you’re not using it under the following conditions:

    • for promotional or sponsorship purposes (or what we’d call commercial purposes, for example, in advertising, promotions, merchandising, etc.),
    • in violation of any stated restriction, or
    • in a defamatory, pornographic or otherwise unlawful manner, or
    • outside of the context of the embed frame (or viewer).
    • So you’ll need to weigh your site’s purpose (is it promoting or advertising?) as part of the process.

These details are also available in the Embedded Viewer section of our Terms of Use page at .

I hope this helps clarify things so that you can continue forward with ease, selecting from among the 66 million images available from this collection.

Thanks for pinging us back, BenC99, and our apologies for the delay. We’ve replied to the other thread so hopefully we can get this worked out soon. I’m going to mark this thread as resolved, but do keep us posted over there.

    Hi BenC99,

I’m sorry for the delay getting back to you, and I’m sorry this has been a blocking issue for you on your .org site with our embed functionality.

Based on your last message, can you confirm that the behavior is still the same: You can embed our images to your WordPress.com site but not using the plugin on your www.ads-software.com site?

If you haven’t already done so, you may want to update or try a fresh install of the plugin. Our current version is 2.4.3, so you may need to click Update from your Installed Plugins view in the Dashboard. Let us know if that does the trick.

I thought it’d be worth explaining a bit about embeds in WordPress vs. on gettyimages.com. You probably noticed that the plugin pastes the short URL in Text mode once you click Embed Images into Post. Although the image may take a moment, it will eventually load in Visual mode. But pasting the embed <div> code from our website (as you mention in your comment above) won’t work as smoothly due to limitations within themes and the WordPress environment itself, hence why we made the plugin available for everyone to use.

So hopefully you can update to the latest version of the www.ads-software.com plugin (or start with a fresh install) to get up and running again with embeds on your .org site.

    Please do keep us posted.

Thanks for your feedback and pinging us back.

    Hi Goingfor2,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you. We’re considering a future update that will allow caption editing, but it likely won’t be available for a while (several months from now).

In the meantime, we’ve turned off captions by default, so hopefully you saw that plugin update since you wrote. This is available in version 2.4.3 of our plug-in. You may need to click Update from your “Installed Plugins” view in the Dashboard.

Thanks and hope you’re enjoying the plugin.

    Hi wordsinthebucket,

Thanks for lettings us know. I’m sorry you encountered this issue after changing themes. Can you share more information about your environment so that I can share this back with the team?

    • WP version
    • Plugin version
    • Theme name
    • Browser name and version
    • OS name and version

This will help us troubleshoot the issue. Also, we’re learning that sometimes a fresh install of the plug-in helps. Can you give that a try and let us know how that works?
