I published one of my pages and it does not load online.

When I go to view the site and click on the page:

    Page Not Found

The page you tried to access does not exist on this server. This page may not exist due to the following reasons:

    1. You are the owner of this web site and you have not uploaded (or incorrectly uploaded) your web site. For information on uploading your web site using FTP client software or web design software, click here for FTP Upload Information.

    2. The URL that you have entered in your browser is incorrect. Please re-enter the URL and try again.

    3. The Link that you clicked on incorrectly points to this page. Please contact the owner of this web site to inform them of this situation.

    Response from GoDaddy:

Thank you for contacting Online Support. At this time I am unable to duplicate the issue that you are describing as I am able to see the domain display our default coming soon page we provide with our hosting account. If this was recently setup please allow up to 48 hours for any DNS changes to propagate.

Also, the primary domains on our hosting accounts will always resolve to the root directory so you will either need to create a redirect script to send page requests to the /wordpress folder you uploaded or you will need to uninstall and then reinstall WordPress to the root folder.

NOTE: We cannot provide application support after installation. For post-installation support, please contact the application vendor through their web site and/or use your favorite search engine to research the issue.

I dont think they answered my Q.

    Appreciate the help please..

    Hi

    Here we go again.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Hosting\5451244\html\wordpress\wp-admin\includes\image.php on line 22

Is it possibly the hosting accounting not giving enough time to load something.
30sec, too quick for South African, 3rd World Bandwidth..
    We haven’t even sniffed T1, T3 yet.

So, using standard WP themes better.

I did however get the same message from default.

I just went back and tried again.

    Gets irritating though sometimes

    Havent tried that yet.

    Can the plugins cause that?

Should I build the blog first, then activate the plugins?

I am using the Revolution Code Blue Theme – installed from Disk.

filename is .htaccess – nothing infront of the . ?

Interesting – this must be a access file vs the .txt file originally?

    (@gfactor)

    Thanks.

Godaddy has the file transfer option.
I move the file and changed the name to htaccess.htaccess ??
Must it be a .txt file or .htaccess file extention?
In the video tutorial I have – they just use FileZilla and moved the txt file.

My dashboard still has the warning message.

    Thanks.

Is the CPanel at the hosting site or WP admin panel?
e.g. if site is hosted at GoDaddy for example?

    aha –
    its actually:

    No wonder..

I am a fairly non-techie type and just would like to learn how to Blog, nice and simple.

Why must it be so complicated?

I also looked at the link:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

that seems a bit high tech for me – I would rather use Forwarding & Masking at goDaddy.
