In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Cache not working with WPG2/Gallery2 rewriteAnyone? So I am the only person that’s come across this? Great. I guess I won’t be using the plugin then.

In reply to: Massive WordPress Blog Hacks and wp-contentI find it ironic that the site quoted in the first post is using an old WP install too… Plus they must be wondering why no-one is commenting – looks like they need to update their old, broken BadBehaviour too.
Maybe the ones giving the advice on hacking should make sure their site is secure in the first place…

In reply to: Gallery 2 and WPG2 IssueWell, I tried it in FF and IE and your thumbnails don’t appear. If I try the URL its using for the thumbnail manually, it comes up with a 404.
Your WPG2 needs fixed. Its not verified and configured right ‘cos the URLs it is putting in instead of the gallery tags are broken.

In reply to: Google Sitemap Displaying Personal InfoIts not in the site map. Its in your browser cache and is filling it in when you click on your own site.

In reply to: AUTHOR IN THE GOD DAMN POSTSo “xblitzx”, I guess not everyone is a “courtesy savvy” either?
You join up and instead of saying “I’d like to do this but can’t work it out. Can you help?” you just leap in, shout moan and bitch. What, are you 6? Try being a grown up and asking politely!
Either that or do what you threaten and stop using WordPress so you don’t have to “ask” for help here.

In reply to: Akismet 2.1 Parse ErrorNope, not everyone gets the headers error. Me, for example. Upgrade to 2.1.1 and no errors at all. And I’m running about 100 other plugins too.

In reply to: Needed Password for Mcafee Total Protection 2008You’re an idiot on so many levels…
First, you’ve got the wrong site here – this is for the WordPress blogging software. That’s all you can download from here, along with plugins to enhance it.
Second, you’ve just publicly admitted to downloading illegal software.

In reply to: WP adding <br />’s in post?Yes. If you’d bothered to do a search, you’d have found it. Look for a plugin to turn off the wpautop filter – either textcontrol plugin from my site, or various other plugins.
Do a search…

In reply to: Tables do not display properly in IE, but OK in FirefoxIts not broken, its the way IE renders empty cells. Put a space in each cell and they’ll show fine (a nbsp literal –

In reply to: Where do widgets go in WP 2.3.1Well, remember that widgets are just plugins too, so have you activated them from the plugins page? If not, they won’t appear in the widgets page.
Most of the time, the folder location doesn’t matter unless the docs for them say “put this file in the widgets directory”.

In reply to: SuperCache rewrites v0.4Checked the wp-cache.php file and everything is right in there, but when I echo out, it strips the “IfModule” bits on screen.
The htaccess file just gets:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]WITH the “IfModule” bits either end, but none of the caching rules.
If I add the caching rules manually, then do an update from the plugin, it wipes them out and puts them back to the defaults above.
Using WP 2.3.1 and v0.4 of the plugin.

In reply to: bbPress vs. a Plugin? The pro for a plugin is shared user registration – register once for both. With Simple, you can post a blog post and it can automatically create a forum discussion topic, if you wish.
With a stand alone package, you’d need a bridge/plugin to do the user sharing, if such a thing exists for your preferred forum s/ware and there aren’t too many that do – so chances are, if your users want a forum post, they’ll have to register separately.
To be honest, that’s basically it. Easier to manage a plugin than a completely separate application.

In reply to: bbPress vs. a Plugin?Try Simple Forum. It’ll do exactly what you’re asking for. I’ve been using it for months and its a breeze to operate.
