Actually, the optimal word here is “research”. I just typed in “wordpress sticky post” to Google, note “plugin” not mentioned…and I found loads about it..all pointing to a plugin. But don’t worry…feel free to push whatever excuse you want for your inability to find the simple stuff..

There’s a difference between being an innocent newbie and just expecting spoon feeding. Do a little research on your own. Even a google search for “wordpress sticky post plugin” would have given you an answer.

Um, yes. Try doing a search in the plugins database for the word “sticky”…

Its not like it opens a hundred popup windows that FORCE you to do anything, its just an unobtrusive little thumbnail. Whoop-de-do! Get over it..

Well, I just went there and under Meta, there are entries to Register, Login, etc. so what are you missing?

Try looking at the viewlevel2 plugin

Yes, its old, but it still works in 2.2.1…at least for me.

Will let you choose a level for each post or the whole site. Also works with pages.

You obviously haven’t used this plugin. It uses the phpmail function using wp_mail, as do most of the wordpress plugins that mail. Try using one before you comment on them…

I posted in the PLUGINS section on here, because this is the section that’s meant to be able to help with plugins for wordpress…

Didn’t I just point them at that very page? Why the echo? Or did you just miss my hint of sarcasm at the “cannot find this setting” line.

Try the Options, then General perhaps? A single click in the dashboard actually…it is tough to find….!!!

That’s a question we’d all love to know. I asked weeks ago, in various places, and not a single reply.

The Text Control Plugin does exactly the job. Lets you turn on and off the automatic reformatting site wide or post by post.

It was originally written by someone else, but I updated it to work with WP2.2.1 and pages, as well as posts, excerpts and comments that it had before.

I’m using it on my blogs to reformat whenever I feel like it instead of having autop always on, or always off.

It does a similar job to Alex Kings “WP-Unformatted” plugin, but without messing with custom fields, AND you can change the formatting routine used from texturize to markdown to a couple of others, or none at all.

Upload your theme again. Its broken – or at least the associated style.css file is wrecked.

Or how about password protection for your blog which even hides the site from search engines.
