In reply to: An Argument for a Comment Registration SystemI haven’t installed anything past 1.0.2, so I haven’t noticed, Matt.
In WP terms, I would think that you’d have worked it into the current user-registration system, since we have 11 levels of gradation [0-10], of which only three or four at most are needed for multi-user Weblogs. Maybe that is the plan. Dunno.
Anyhow, good to know. ??Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: I have a hard time understanding what WP is.Yeah, this is not what you’re looking for.
I’m presently offering Weblogs for users of my site, and every time someone signs up, I get to spend 15 minutes putting it together for ’em.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: WordPress CSS Style Competition! (ends Feb 6th)Hey, y’all get cracking on this! I’m ready to give out some cashola! ??
I’ve been happy with how things have been going, but I want to see some more cool stuff. ??Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: What may I delete?Mike:
To answer your question a bit further, I’d not delete the b2rss, b2rdf, and b2rss2 for about a month after upgrading. They’re set up to redirect aggregators to the new syndication files. Removing those would break that.
You can also can b2-img/, b2-includes/, blog.header.php, and layout2b.css.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Blogger ImportI’ve run it now, but I’m getting odd results. I’ll need to check the db when I have access to it via phpMyAdmin.
Matt, if you want to see the files, I can tar them and email them to you.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Blogger ImportWill do as soon as I can get out from under the fun of my job today.

In reply to: Blogger ImportI’m trying again now with 1.0, and with the 20040117 nightly, running wp-admin/import-blogger.php gives me the following error:
Warning: main(upgrade_functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/rmfoblog/public_html/david/wp-admin/import-blogger.php on line 19
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘upgrade_functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/rmfoblog/public_html/david/wp-admin/import-blogger.php on line 19
Is this an issue where some of the CVS code busted up the function from loading? I needed to load import-blogger to get the format to stick Blogger into.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: WordPress Blogs Stats@armina / GamerZ: I’m 99.999% sure it’s blog.header.php, not blog-header.php.

In reply to: the_category()Huh? Sorry, I was gazing at my navel.
Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: the_category()Nuts … I even searched for the_category() to make sure I wasn’t repeating myself.
:sigh: Sorry to make you repeat yourself, Matt.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: the_category()Hey, it gave me a cheap excuse to rhyme. I’m a writer, not a coder.
Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: the_category()That would be semantic … but then I’m pedantic about spelling.
I probably should be more pedantic about semantics and think before I speak. ??Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: the_category()I guess a list does make sense in some ways, now that I think about it some more, but it seems like adding a bit more code than necessary to then turn around have
display: inline;
a few different places inside the stylesheet.

In reply to: Value of CSS in your blog toolboxI’ll agree that most geegaws are indeed just that, but consider that, sometimes, people use code in ways not originally expected, which leads to applications that no one ever dreamed of.
I mean, who’d ever think to use Perl to maintain a personal Web site? Isn’t Perl just a Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister anyway?
[Wait … Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish describes most of my posts. eep.]
