In reply to: Struggling with Imbalance 2 Theme and Custom CSSI have actually edited header.php before (on a different project), and I figured the answer probably lay there. Trouble is, I’m not knowledgeable enough to know where in all that code it should happen, nor do I know what code to insert. As for CSS, I’ve seen several comments about that. The Patterned Plate (the example I used) seems to be a very popular example. I think I have to purchase the Custom CSS upgrade, right? When I log in to my admin dashboard, and go to Appearance/Theme Options, I get a simple window that lets me adjust a few things, but I do not see anywhere to deal with the header image. I have screen grabs that show what that experience looks like, if I could figure out how to post them here. Also, I read somewhere that I need to upload my header graphic to my Media/Library, which I did. I see it there, but do not know what to do with it next.
I do see in the CSS a few references to header, such as this one:
#header { border-bottom: 1px solid #dedfe0; padding-bottom: 50px; }
would it be in one of these lines that I make the edit?
Thank you very much for your interest and persistence in helping me – you are a kind soul.

In reply to: Struggling with Imbalance 2 Theme and Custom CSSThank you a ton zoonini. The site is dishingwithdebbie.com. I have a temporary under construction page up, so it won’t tell you much I’m afraid. The site is under development, and only visible with my admin log in, which I don’t want to post for obvious reasons. Could I snap a screen grab of what it looks like and post that?

In reply to: Theme Imbalance 2 difficultiessure – i have a graphic I want to put across the top of my Imbalance 2 Theme as a masthead, very similar to this example:
https://thepatternedplate.wordpress.com/
currently, my Imbalance 2 Theme says only “my blog” in text at the top, where this graphic is meant to be. I want to add the graphic instead of “my blog”.
When I go into Themes/Editor in my dashboard, I see several page formats to choose from, one of which is “header”. I assume this is where I will code this graphic addition, but I don’t know how.

In reply to: My blog has disappeared due to wp-config issues. Help!MySQL shows only one database. The parameters in that database were transferred over to wp-config. Yet, the problem still persists. Is there anything else I need to add to the config file?

In reply to: My blog has disappeared due to wp-config issues. Help! That makes sense. How can I be sure I am using correct database?

In reply to: WordPress Blog is Down – GoDaddy Says This is Why. What do I do?I did what you suggested. Now, when I go to bigshootout.com/wp-admin, it indeed prompts me to the admin login, but now, it doesn’t recognize my admin login. It shakes at me, indicating I’m giving it the wrong info, but I know it’s right. When I ask to reset my password, it tells me it doesn’t recognize my email address.

In reply to: WordPress Blog is Down – GoDaddy Says This is Why. What do I do?Pothi – you are right, there are two installations. One at the root, one in a subfolder. I did that when I was first installing wordpress, couple years ago. I have been ignoring the one that is in the subfolder all this time – only using the one at root. But since I updated the database configuration this morning, every time I try to log in to admin, it sends me to the wordpress installation in the subfolder – the one I’ve been ignoring. So I deleted it from server (after a lot of consternation). Now, when I log in to admin, It still wants to go to the one in subfolder, even though it isn’t there anymore. I can’t seem to force it to find the one at root.
songdogtech – I tried what you suggested, although it doesn’t seem to be affecting anything, probably because of what I told Pothi, above.
Do i need to change something else somewhere?

In reply to: WordPress Blog is Down – GoDaddy Says This is Why. What do I do?my url is bigshootout.com. when i enter https://www.bigshootout.com/wp-admin, i get a blank non-responive page in my browser. No error message. The address bar at the top of the browser reads:
https://bigshootout.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F
It used to read:
https://bigshootout.com/wp-admin
and give me a box to enter my login and password.
When I log in to my database manager at godaddy, I don’t see anyplace to enable debugging. I did see where I could change “WP_DEBUG’ from false to true, which I did. Still blank page after I enter my url/wp-admin.
Thank you very much for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

In reply to: WordPress Blog is Down – GoDaddy Says This is Why. What do I do?Thank you so much. I actually got in and was able to make the edits. Now, when I go to my blog, it shows up as the default theme, not the one I built. When I try to enter my url.com/wp-admin, I am not going to my dashboard in wordpress. So close! Now what?

In reply to: Moved my site to new account, can't get it runningMy site is https://www.bigshootout.com. When I enter that in my browser, I get a graphic stating this:
sorry…that site is not currently available.
I used the ftp tool in my godaddy dashboard to upload the files to the godaddy server. I see the config.php file there, but I can’t open it. When I try to open it in a browser, I get a 404 error.
When I try to launch it in Dreamweaver, I got an error that says:
“This page may have dynamically-related files that can only be discovered by the server”
I have the option there to “discover” it, but when I try that, I get this:
“Dynamically-related files could not be resolved because authentication failed.”
Sounds like something is set up wrong.
