In reply to: Moved Blog to New Host, Won't Load SiteOkay, I have what I am guessing are the database files. They are in a directory called “cgi/_db_backups/big1105906171862.sql” Does this sound right?

In reply to: Locked out of my account!in order to edit my site, i entered https://www.bigshootout.com/wp-admin in the address bar of my browser. i then would get a wordpress admin login window. i would enter my username and password, and off I’d go. I was able to do this with no problem as recently as a week ago. today, i try, and i am blocked out. my username and password are no longer valid. coincidentally, we just transferred the domain to point to a new account. sounds like i locked myself out. what i am trying to do is find out if there is any way of restoring the wordpress database and files without having to contact my former partner, whom we had a pretty rugged parting with.

In reply to: Locked out of my account!no, my company had two partners. Me and the other guy. Our site was hosted on his godaddy account. we parted ways, and i bought a new account on godaddy and had my ex-partner transfer the domain name to me. Now when I try and access the site through wordpress using my old username and password, I am blocked. It tells me the username is not valid. I didn’t back up all the files from the old godaddy account. Now I can’t get to my site to make edits.

In reply to: Locked out of my account!there’s a long story, but I’ll try and keep it short. I had my wordpress site hosted on godaddy. our partnership dissolved, and we transferred the domain name and opened a new account with godaddy. now it appears the site is stuck in the old space, and I can’t access it through wordpress to move it to the new space. I don’t understand why the username at wordpress would be changed.

In reply to: Home keyThanks a ton.

In reply to: Home keyThanks, Chip. I have tried, but with no success. i do see this message in my Menus dashboard:
The current theme does not natively support menus, but you can use the “Custom Menu” widget to add any menus you create here to the theme’s sidebar.
Does this affect anything?

In reply to: All my posts are on 1 page – want them to scatterEach page does have comments enabled, but I don’t see that tag in “page.php”

In reply to: All my posts are on 1 page – want them to scatterOkay. So now, I want to allow each of my four pages to accept comments. First, there will be some static text, and a picture, then a space for folks to comment. How do I do that?

In reply to: All my posts are on 1 page – want them to scatterThanks again, Chip. One last one, and I’ll stop stalking you. I now have have done what you said, it’s working great. Now, I want my site to default to “The Bigshootout Page”, like an index.html. Must that be a post?
