@jaredatch — have you had a chance to look further into this? I’m still not getting notifications to my sub-domain bbPress 2.0.2 install.
UPDATE: version 0.2.9.6 is the last version that works for me. Every version after that to .13 causes the same problem as I have described above.
Following up. Went back to version 0.2.9.2 and IT STILL WORKS.
In version 0.2.9.13 the problem occurs. If I do a file list or a table (as opposed to a tree view) then good links are created and I can open a file.
But with the tree view, hovering over a folder to click on it produces a target link in the following form:
{main Url}/{name of files page}/{category name}/#wpfb-cat-4 (and the category name and number are correct)As indicated in my prior message, Java never starts although it is working otherwise on this computer in two different browsers (Chrome and MSIE).
This formerly worked, and works on my main site as noted above. Something changed with regard to use of WP-FB on a sub-site.
Java never starts. I checked that it is functioning on this browser (Chrome). Enabled the java console and verified that in the test of java on the java site, the console comes up.
Click on a wp-filebase folder icon and nothing happens. This is on a sub-site which has access restricted to members. It’s https://members.daybreakrotary.us/files-2/.
BUT, wp-filebase works on the main site which is open to the public at https://daybreakrotary.us/files/
I am an admin so that is not at issue.
@jaredatch
Bumping this.
Any thoughts about the sub-domain site possibly being an issue?
I am getting notifications through Subscribe2 plugin of normal posts and in the test emails via the smtp plugin.gil
Had host enter MX records for the sub-domain. Works now.
The plot thickens.
If I set the “emails per” to 10, the notice goes out although I have to specifically authorize it through my list-server (the list-server is the recipient) since the bcc field gets used.If I set if back to 1 per, no notices go out. I have checked to make sure my list-server did not reject it.
The \n fix did not work either.
Stumped. One other thought. This is on a subsite of a multisite installation. Could that make a difference?
I did discover that lunarpages uses qmail. Yuk.
I did the #1 fix. The WP SMTP plugin sends a test mail to me just fine.Still no notifications although I
– disabled all unneeded plugins
– deactivated, deleted, and re-added your pluginStill nothing. I may try the \n fix next.
My apologies. I AM on bbP 2.0.2. I also misspoke about the host. This one is on lunarpages.
– Reluctant to do WP 3.3 until I know all of the plugins I use are up to date.
– Did the disabling. No change, no notifications.
– here are the debug results. I don’t see anything that’s obvious to me, but I’m not a coder, either.Notice: load_plugin_textdomain was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.7 with no alternative available. in /home/daybr2/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3468

I am on bbPress 2.0 (via the plugin) and WP 3.2.1.
My notifications are not being sent. I have looked at the thread at https://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15555 and I don’t have those issues involving the MTA. My other notifications from the WP portion of my site work just fine, for example from the Subscribe2 plugin.
I have the sender set elsewhere as being a registered member. I have all registered members in the box as recipients and none of them get emails.
This is hosted on hostgator.
Tell me where to troubleshoot please.

In reply to: Subscribe2 email issue@matty, it is network activated. I am able to get to the settings on the sub-domain site. And I can see these settings in the database: (wp_3 is the sub site)

In reply to: Subscribe2 email issueVisit Settings->Subscribe2 and set the number of recipients per email to 1 and also make sure that on your client site the ‘Sender’ in the same Settings window has an email address on the same domain as your blog. Their email address will be available in Users->All Users and the Username on that screen will match those in the Sender drop down in the Settings->Subscribe2.
I have done all of that.
The author of a post always gets notification of his own post and of comments (via subscribe-to-comments-reloaded.
I have tried subbing all registered users in bulk, and then unsubbed them and subbed only one subscriber (a test account going to another email account of mine).
Stuck and stumped.

(UPDATE) The notices are working at https://daybreakrotary.us but NOT on a sub-domain multisite part of the same domain.
I have been having the same problem with v. 6.5. Have done all of the steps that kalanit74 did. Then uninstalled 6.5 and installed the newest 7.x version. Still not sending.
