Can confirm that the issue with the featured image is resolved in version 3.9.8 and clicking on it in the archives page opens the post it’s associated with.

Version 3.9.8 appears to be stable and is working fine (at least it is for me).

I think Forest Gump would love the Evolve theme because each update “is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get” ??

The latest release (3.9.7) is broken for me throwing the Kirki error mentioned in the other thread @romik84.

Therefore, I can’t test the fix.

@abigailm & @ladyleialoha : your website doesn’t display an error in the front end after updating to 3.9.7?
If it isn’t, do you mind telling me which PHP version are you on?

The error appears on the frontend only.

I am able to login and work in the backend without issues.

You need to enable content boxes on the homepage @abigailm and also make sure your website is running on PHP 7.2 in order to get the error

Really curious if you get the same issue so looking forward to your update.

Until @romik84 releases a fix, I decided to simply downgrade to PHP 7.1 and the issue is now gone.

I thought it’s better to wait for the new version instead of playing manually with the theme code (which will be overwritten anyways when the new update is released).

Be nice if you could release a fix sooner rather than later @romik84 as I prefer to run my site on the latest stable PHP version as it has certain benefits over 7.1 when it comes to load speed.

Also, I’ve had version 3.9.4 of the theme running on my site for 3 weeks now and haven’t had this problem till now. How come?

Tried activating on a test site and the plugin generated an error 500 as soon as it’s activated.

Clearly the plugin is not yet ready for a production site.

Akismet has a LOT of false positives and is an interior product to WP-Spamshield. Period!

The only reason it’s more widely used is because it is bundled with core by most auto-installers used by web hosts

I read Scott’s version of events and assuming it is accurate (and looks like it is because he provided sufficient evidence in my mind to substantiate his claims), this is very concerning.

I have always believed that WordPress was one of the best things to happen to the WWW and am a passionate advocate of it as a force of good online.

If Otto is indeed behaving in this manner, his position as a wp.org administrator is untenable!

I would really like to hear Otto’s and yours version of events @ipstenu and I think you OWE this to the community.

@abigailm you can use the wp-rollback plugin to roll to a previous version.

Not sure though doing that will get rid of the MU plugin that was added in ver 1.9.20

Personally, I think I am just going to jump ship and look for another plugin.

Any recommendations???
