In reply to: [Rel Nofollow Checkbox] Breaks the link modal box in WordPress 4.2Experiencing the same on my site.
Current version of the Plugin is not compatible with 4.2 and the developer needs to update it.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for replying.
Two points:
1. You should be clearly warning people in the plugin description that it is NOT designed for use in a shared hosting environment. Not doing so is very irresponsible to the community given the vast majority of self-hosted wordpress sites in the world are on shared hosting.
2. I don’t have any sites that I can test a beta product on but will be happy to try your cloud solution once it is fully released and ready for use in a SHARED hosting environment.
What theme do you use Paul if I may ask?
I was using the Blox theme on my site (heavily customised).
With regards to fixing this issue, I would have no clue how to do it. I am not a programmer or a web developer.
I got a web developer to look at the site after I noticed my sidebar was no longer appearing after removing YARRP and he discovered the issue and explained it to me.
He was also the one who fixed it so I can’t help you unfortunately.
For the rest of you: AVOID this plugin. As simple as that. Plenty of other fish in the ocean.
@esmi no, we NEVER setup any accounts with ShareThis and definitely never provided them with the email address setup on WordPress.
We never setup the account because after installing the plugin we read the reviews on here (for example this one) and decided to remove the plugin and use something else instead.
Maybe that’s why we received this email but either way, how could they have sent it to us if we NEVER provided them with an email address voluntarily?
This behaviour is a clear breach of the US CAN-SPAM act of 2003 and therefore we intend to report this to the FTC which is the designated enforcement agency under the act.
@esmi, I am not a coder so would not know.
Here are the facts I do know:
1. We installed the plugin on our site
2. We NEVER supplied any email address voluntarily to the company behind it
3. An email was received to the address setup on WP as the admin email.
4. See this link for screenshot of the email received
5. The email had no option to unsubscribe or opt-out from receiving future communication or to have the email address removed from the database.
6. This constitutes SPAM under current federal legislation in both the US and Australia (where we are based). As per my previous comment, this plugin should be BANNED from the repository!
@esmi , no point contacting anyone. It is time to go straight to the government!
harvesting emails and then not even offering an option to opt-out in the mailouts is ILLEGAL. Full stop!
WordPress should REMOVE this plugin from the repository forthwith as they are a threat to our community!

In reply to: [ShareThis: Free Sharing Buttons and Tools] spam!Same thing happened to us!!
It appears that the plugin ‘harvests’ the admin email upon installation.
Furthermore, the email we received had no option to unsubscribe! This is CRIMINAL!!
We will file a formal complaint with the FTC against this company.****** DO NOT TOUCH THIS PLUGIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ********
