In reply to: can't remove /wp from my url no matter what i doWhen I tried to remove the redirect, it wouldn’t let me. I got an error saying it couldn’t open the htaccess file…I didn’t clone anything yet. I tried to move the files before, but it didn’t work so I moved them back, but I left the index.php and htaccess files in the original folder, and changed the index.php,so maybe that’s why it didn’t work?

In reply to: can't remove /wp from my url no matter what i dook, i tried it again and all it did was take me to the url with /wp at the end of it again and give me the 404 error for my wp-admin page. this is really starting to be frustrating lol i’ve been trying to get this to work for the last 3 days with no luck

In reply to: can't remove /wp from my url no matter what i dook, so i changed both and it didn’t work, after i changed it i couldn’t log onto my wp-admin page, i got a 404 error and the site wasn’t visible either. so, to be clear, i change the site url and home url right? and my site is https://www.girlspeaksgeek.com but when you type it in it will take you to https://www.girlspeaksgeek.com/wp

In reply to: can't remove /wp from my url no matter what i doYes it is. And I also Google it and followed the instructions from other people and it all says pretty much the same thing. I change my site url in the settings, and then it says site can’t be found, like it should, I copy the folders so I can change the directory in the php, copy back into the public_html and then when I go to see if it worked it still has the /wp on the url…except for when I moved the wp files into a different folder, when I did that I couldn’t get back to my wp-admin page, but I fixed that by moving everything back. But I make sure I save the changes in the settings for the url and the permalinks too. I don’t get what I’m doing wrong.
