@optimizingmatters – Thank you so much for your reply.
@vupdraft – Thank you for running the test to confirm that there is a performance conflict between the Bluehost and UpdraftPlus plugins. Bluehost support’s answer, however, is only partially correct. That plugin also allows the user to set up a staging environment where they can make changes to their website without it affecting the live site. Then, when the changes are complete, the live site can be updated all at once. For me, this was very helpful during the past year as I completely redesigned my website with the Divi theme. During that period, the UpdraftPlus plugin was working fine. It wasn’t until the beginning of July 2023 when the UpdraftPlus plugin stopped working properly. So it seems to me, either the UpdraftPlus plugin or the Bluehost plugin must have had an update sometime during that period to make the two incompatible.
On my site I will deactivate the Bluehost Plugin for now, since I am not using the staging environment at the moment. However, that does not seem to fix the overall problem. I’m sure others who are currently using the Bluehost and UpdraftPlus plugins together are experiencing this same issue.
Thank you again for all your help.
I found several “Autoptimize” files listed via my File Manager. I hope I downloaded the one you wanted. Let me know if it’s one of the other ones (I provided screenshots). Below are links to access the file/images in my Dropbox account:

RobertI didn’t find the Bluehost Plugin under “mu-plugins”, however, I did find it under “plugins” (at least, I think it’s the one you are asking for). Below is the Dropbox link with the file (“bluehost-wordpress-plugin.php”). Please note, also in this Dropbox folder is a screenshot of the File Manager that shows the location of the plugin file.
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/wc0zuvoth93mf0ks1p895/h?rlkey=gn8cb7xlnxgcyeoug2zl33qsj&dl=0I don’t see an option to download “The Bluehost Plugin”. Nor is it listed when I do a search when I try to add a new plugin. Originally, Bluehost Support added the plugin to my website. Any idea how to download it?
Sorry, I meant to include the link to the error log in my last response. Here’s this morning’s (08/18/23) error log:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ssfn2v9sapwpdosavopsx/log.1486a25155f5.txt?rlkey=757xbu4xdf6916iwdw3cljzla&dl=0Okay, so to make sure I could safely deactivate the Bluehost Plugin, I first contacted Bluehost support, who said it was okay to deactivate, but to solve the problem they would update “wp config” right away. They said I should wait an hour and then re-run the UpdraftPlus backup without deactivating their plugin and it should work fine. I waited several hours and re-ran the UpdraftPlus backup but it was not successful. I received the same UpdraftPlus “unsuccessful” email with a file attached that I’ve been getting each morning.
So then, as you suggested, I deactivated the Bluehost Plugin and re-ran the UpdraftPlus Backup. Apparently, it was successful. This time I received an UpdraftPlus email with no log file attached that said the following:
“Backup of:?https://www.dcartglass.com
UpdraftPlus WordPress backup is complete.
Backup contains: Files and database (Full backup)
Latest status: The backup succeeded and is now complete”
I also checked my Google drive and there are several zip files in my UpdraftPlus folder that are dated today (later afternoon) and labeled “backup_2023-08-17…”.
So, to avoid having to keep turning on/off the Bluehost Plugin and then manually running the backups each day, what needs to be done for the nightly automatic UpdraftPlus backups to run successfully while the Bluehost Plugin is still active?
Thank you so much for your help on this,
RobertI’m sorry, what is the “newfold page cache” plugin? I don’t see that listed on my plugin page in my dashboard.
Much thanks.Hi Bryle,
Thank you for getting back to me. Here is the latest file that I received today from the UpdraftPlus email notification that the backup was not successful:
Thank you,
RobertHi Bryle,
I did as you suggested, but I am getting the same results. Is there something else to try?
Much thanks,

In reply to: Lost Access to Some Dashboard FunctionsYes, I just emailed them and nplexity.com said the code is running from np.lexity.com, not nplexity.com. (?)

In reply to: Lost Access to Some Dashboard FunctionsOkay, I have backed up the database via phpmyAdmin, backed up all the files to my computer via FileZilla, updated WP to 4.1.1, but nothing has really changed.
The premium theme Tech Support suggests something is broken in my database. They recommend deleting it, including the entire WordPress installation folder, and create a new database. I thought that would have been accomplished by updating to 4.1.1. (?)
At this point, it seems I should start from scratch. Yahoo has instructions that delete WordPress by “deactivating” it in their control panel. I’d lose all content, but at least I could start to rebuild. Any other suggestions before I take this drastic measure?
Much thanks.

In reply to: Lost Access to Some Dashboard FunctionsTo run the backup, my host (Yahoo) directed me to mydomain.com/phpMyAdmin. But now I’m struggling to log in there. I followed the directions to re-set up the user id/password(found at https://help.yahoo.com/kb/yahoo-web-hosting/learn-create-sln20634.html), but that didn’t seem to accomplish anything. Although, I have to admit, I’m not sure what the last part of those instructions mean: “Once you’ve changed the database password, be sure to change the password used in any of PHP or Perl scripts that access the database.” That statement comes with no explanation or instructions. (?)
I don’t see a reference to cpanel on my Yahoo webhosting control panel. There are MySQL Database Backup options, but Yahoo support told me today that those functions don’t work.
I have one more day to work on resolving this before I have no choice but to put it aside for a week. I’m planning to contact my host tomorrow to get help logging into myPHPAdmin, unless you can shed some light on that. Once I can log in I’ll run the backup and update WP to 4.1.1.

In reply to: Lost Access to Some Dashboard FunctionsWhiteScreenOfDeath – I tried the backup by reactivating WP Database Backup plugin, but after an hour, it was only 14% complete. That did not seem right, so I aborted the backup. I also tried to download wp-content folder directly via FileZilla, but that seemed to be going on for far too long and still showed over 7000 queued files yet to download. So I aborted that too. So, I didn’t update to 4.1.1 yet. Was I too hasty when I aborted?
kmessinger – Okay, I changed the wp-content/plugins/wp-cache to wp-content/plugins/wp-cache-old/ via FileZilla. I looked for the .htaccess file on the remote site route directory and I also did a search, and do not see it. I have “forced showing hidden files” checked in FileZilla and my Host (Yahoo) knows nothing about giving me access to seeing that file. This is confusing to me because if change the Permalinks via my Dashboard from “Post name” to “Default” I get a message that says the “Permalink structure has been updated.” I’ve been told that if I get that message the .htaccess file already exists. Is that correct?
To answer your second question, I am not familiar with nplexity.com. Does that mean they hacked my site?
