You’re right, I’m on 1.8.18. My bad, I saw the changelog and assumed I was running 1.9.

Thanks, for some reason deleting and re-installing the plugin worked for me. (WP 3.8.1)

Like you say it seems the author has ceased development so I think there’s no point. I just shared the information because it took a while to find the culprit among the four affected plugins.

Ah thanks mmucklow. I don’t know where I went wrong there; anyways it works now. I have Subscribers, Contributors, one Editor and one Admin.
-I wanted every registered user to see a private “help” page. So I appended no settings to that.
-I wanted contributors and above to see a link to “Write a new post” etc. So I added |true|1 to those links.
-I wanted Editors and Admins to have a link to the dashboard. So I added |true|7 to that.
Works now.

Details: Running Sidebar login 2.2.9 and WordPress 2.9.1. Everything else seems to work fine.
