header.php has a difference code in 3.0.3 version. I changed it in my ChildTheme and now it works.

if I understand your question, that is to have the link to the homepage as a menu item, just go to Settings > Menu and choose the page you’ve chosen to be the Homepage and add it to the menu items.

Create a category (eg: Best Post) for the Post you want display in home.

Create a new page (eg: Best Post Page) and add the plugin shortcode

Go to Settings > Reading > Front Page Display > A Static Page > Front Page: your page.
